Not buying it. He didn't meet with the Cavs (as far as we know) and the Cavs weren't going to sign free agents to lure him here. The roster is mostly locked.
That being said, I don't think that anything that came out tonight means anything.

For Melo (and take in mind that this is just stuff I've been reading on the Internet and could be off base) his people have convinced him that signing with the Knicks for the max is in his best interest because he could always get a trade later so take the most money.
Part B of that is him realizing that teaming up with Bron became a pipe dream once LeBron made it clear that he was taking the max because Melo isn't in the mood to give out any discounts, either.
Could be BS but the logic seems sound enough.
