There would be cap penalties to cutting him I believe.
I think you are overestimating the goodwill of some of these athletes. Ray Allen will probably have to be dragged off the court.

Not true at all. Lebron is my favorite player; Am I not allowed to root for him?

Senior citizens while unsafe behind the wheel, do still serve a purpose
Look what happened in a year to San Antonio... Their best players are among the oldest in the game. Not to mention kawai coming of age.

You can do whatever you want. I'm just saying most fans' primary fanhood is tied to a team not a specific player

Sam Amick?@sam_amick·11 mins While Houston Rockets wait for a decision from Chris Bosh on max offer, I'm told they reached out to Luol Deng's camp again today.
So would Deng play power forward because they kind of already have a small forward they have on their agenda

anyone know any Jordan fans who became Wizard fans?

I know plenty of Jordan fans who kept rooting for Jordan.

I'm a Pels fan, but I enjoy watching other players around the league (Curry most notably). I enjoy watching Golden State play, but I'm not getting overly excited about them winning or losing (unless I have money on the game). I think most adults who are sports fans probably feel the same. It would feel really weird to be a fan of a specific player and have whatever team that player is on be your favorite team. Seems like the attitude that a kid would have. (Or possibly a female

I hate this mindset of you are either a bandwagon basketball fan or you hate Lebron.
We like to call this state the "MSB Mindset"

I will always pull for Lebron. I see no reason to hate him. He seems like a great guy and is one of the best basketball players of all time.
This.
I respect the hell out of what he's been able to do.
Not many people can come in with the insane expectations he did and still succeed to the level he has.

Yeah I don't hate him at all. He could have handled leaving Cleveland a little better but I completely understand why he left. I enjoy watching him play, he's a once in a generation type of athlete that we will tell our grand kids we saw play.
My point was that if you ask all NBA fans who they root for, the majority are going to answer with a team and not a player. I know people pull for certain players on the side and such, but I doubt you would root for Cleveland over the Pels (assuming that's your favorite team) in the finals because of Lebron. With the majority of fans, the team will always trump the player. The people who only root for Lebron no matter where he plays make up a pretty small minority in the big scheme of things

Fake Account?@dont_believe_this·10 mins Heat have a sign and trade in place with the Pelicans that will send LeBron over for Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon.
Sounds legit

Right. Like people wouldn't have rooted for any team MJ signed with when he came back after baseball. People are fascinated by great players, and want to see them achieve great things. How sanctimonious of you to view that as "child-like."
