An interesting take on this is that he realized that Cleveland was never going to be bad enough to put good pieces around him while he was on the team. They botched the Boozer deal up and selected some no name instead of Al Jefferson in the '04 draft. He leaves for a few years, takes the legacy hit in the short term, lets Cleveland rebuild with the idea that he comes back in the third act to save the day. Sound plausible?

I don't think he would have planned that necessarily, but maybe him thinking "well they could always build a nice young core and it will be a good option to go back there in four years". But yeah, I agree he always had coming back as an option in his mind if he thought the team he was joining could win. Which is why Gilbert's rant was so idiotic. I will gain a lot of respect for Lebron if he's man enough to push that to the side to come back and try to win a championship for Cleveland. A lot of athletes (or non athletes for that matter) would hold a grudge.

Lebron seriously should just embrace his WWE-style Heel/Face turns.

He's like the real life version of Hulk Hogan

Leaving the NWO to go back to his original red and yellow colors.

He would win so many points with me if the way he announced was he posts a video of him ripping an NWO shirt to reveal a Cavs t-shirt underneath it with Real American blasting when he does it

Local Miami sports reporter.

I would wonder what that player based that statement on, and if LeBron has all the leverage, there is no way Riley makes the moves he made without LeBron being satisfied with them.

Judging that the time is listed at 17:39 PM today, I would go with no

Either that or Irving has a time machine and is holding out on us

I don't see how the time stamp invalidates that tweet. If he was overseas for instance...

On an actual basketball note, if Lebron does indeed return to the Cavs I'll be interested to see what they look like in a half court offense with him having an actual competent PG and Blatt as the head coach. It would be interesting to see him playing off the ball more instead of being such a primary ball handler

He had to have had an exam or something major. Either that or he is a much better student than I ever was

Probably gave his cellphone to someone else so he didn't look at it all class and now looks like an addict just trying to get his next fix
