I agree with this thought process. If this year's Finals proves anything, it's that winning a championship with no depth behind your stars, even with a bevvy of stars, can prove to be very difficult.

I think this makes some sense if you take Kawhi out of it. If you can get Kawhi, you obviously get him. Who cares what happens after that.

I think you get Kawhi if you can. Absolutely. But you'll have 3 max players on a load managment plan and a bunch of nobodies (sorry, Kuzma). I just don't see how that works.

And let's not forget the 1st year coach (who was "off" last year) with a barely .500 career record. I would be more interested in this team in year 2 after they've figured it out.

Depends on that third guy. Kawhi and those are three top five guys. Even the Warriors didn't have that at the top.

A guy like Jimmy Butler, yeah, I'd rather have the depth.

We don't even know how those 3 would play together. All 3 of them are considered top 5 in the league, or at least AD was before last season. Who takes a back seat? If AD can take on the Bosh role from Miami, then that's something.

Kawhi is better than any other 3 guys.

Kyrie on the other hand.. not so much. They need defense. Not just an elite offensive talent.
