As our highest paid alum currently in the league, I’m very happy for him.
As someone who watched him play a decent amount of basketball last year I’m puzzled.

I agree. To hold the Lakers accountable for Magic running his mouth does seem a bit unfair.
They could have told KL that Magic is no longer an employee, does not represent us, does not speak for us, and does not have any influence in our decision making.
Instead they were happy for him to be an unpaid rep.
Dat Buss magic!

could you imagine how bad it would look if the lakers called up kawhis camp and told him not speak to magic?

Letting him act like he still works for the team was a bad look.
There is no reason for him to be repping them anymore. He doesn't work for them and he can't shut the frick up. Sucks for them that he's a Lakers legend but letting him get involved was stupid when Kawhi had been so amendment about nobody leaking to the press.

It’s the price you have to pay for Lebron.
Also, I’m not sure who is going to have a weirder time when they wake up tomorrow.
Toronto or OKC fans. I guess OKC because this had to appear so out of the blue for them.

The return helps soften the blow though.

JaVale McGee has agreed to return to the Lakers, where he’ll likely start at center, league sources tell ESPN. It’s a two-year, $8.2 million deal, with a player option.

so far every deal is for 2 years. makes sense. next years free agency is not great and lebron can opt out 2 years from now. will probably have a max spot in 2021

Please let them add Melo and Boogie. Then I won’t be mad if every single Laker game is televised
