Okc got their Giddey replacement
He needs a year of injury rebab. Will turn him into a future trade asset or become a good player for them. I think they go for Hartenstein to shore up next years team. The fact Presti didn’t move tells me this was a trade or future oick not a win now pick.

Celtics trying to draft Bird 2.0

Next year is where the fun begins

The Celtics drafted a guy who's a good potential fit as a role player.
Bird was drafted 6th in 1978. They're not trying to draft 2.0.
I like the pick as a potential solid role player. Good perimeter shooter and rebounder. If he continues to develop as a passer and defender, that's a really good pick at 30. It's not an upside, high-ceiling pick, but a good skill set fit for a Championship team.

That is the most Tennessee looking fan ever. He's thin because of the meth.

is the second round of the NBA draft really necessary?
The contracts aren't guaranteed and most have to play their way in through G league
Why not make the rest of the draft pool free agents and can sign with any team to better utilize their fits as roster spots are precious
even late first rounders have a tough time getting minutes right away

I agree.
Which is what makes the impending hate on the lakers for drafting Bronny in the 2nd round hilarious
2nd round draft picks and players hardly ever make the league. Teams trade 2nd rounders just so they don't have to draft anyone

Is goat jr going to get drafted today?
Posted on 6/27/24 at 12:02 pm to TigerMan327
There are players in 2nd rounds. (This is not really pertaining to the part about Jr.)
Andrew Nembhard was drafted in the 2nd, and he has played a key role with the Pacers the last two seasons. And he actually upped his play significantly in the playoffs.
Then there's Jokic and Brunson, and many others through the years.

Oklahoma City is trading Lindy Waters III to Golden State for No. 52 pick, sources say.

So OKC doesn’t really need a player at the 52 spot per se. But could draft Bronney and force LAL to fork over a high pick to get him lol.

ESPN has Malika, Stephen A, Woj, and Bob Myers on the desk for this round. There's no way their knowledge of the potential picks goes further than Bronny and maybe Filipowski.
