quote:You said they've won "most of the time", tougher schedule yes, but have they had a better record in the last 2 playoffs than Miami? That makes a difference, I know they don't have a better recrod this season, which negates saying matter of factly that they've played better, or more specifically "won most of the time" compared to Miami.
Meh, Parker has gotten the better of Bron often enough that it's a viable option for SA down the stretch (see game 1 last year and game 6 last year). SA's biggest thing to worry about down the stretch is taking care of the ball and hitting foul shots.

Um, SA had to play much tougher competition to get to the Finals both years

Just because you play tougher competition doesn't mean you played better or are better. If you play tough competition and lose 12 games that doesn't mean you performed better than the team playing lesser competition that lost 5 games(made up numbers), right?

1st 3 rounds, Spurs 12-6, Heat 12-3.
Taking the competition difference, sounds fairly even to me, can't really argue the Spurs were better, especially considering the Mavericks took them to 7 games.

Actually, yeah, generally it does.
Look, I'm not trying to say that Miami isn't a great team, but to act like they're worlds better because they steamrolled the Bobcats and Nets is silly.
I know you're just saying anything to exalt the heat, though. No skin off my nose. Can't wait for game 3

You're saying record doesn't matter at all, that's not true, not even close to it. Let me make an extreme hypothetical to prove my point since the other obvious and real one didnt' work. Team A goes 21-19 against West competition. Team B goes 37-3 against East team competition. You just said that that means Team A is better. I'm telling you that isn't so.
quote:Not to be an arse, but if that's what you got out of my points, you're not even trying to comprehend them. I've acknowledged the schedule difference every step of the way.
but to act like they're worlds better because they steamrolled the Bobcats and Nets is silly.
quote:No, just bringing a little logic to the debate. I know it gets muddied up and blurred when rooting for your team.

I got nothing muddled. You just dislike the fact that I disagree with your assessment

And I never said this at all
You're bending over backwards and defying logic to fellate the heat. Which is cool with me. I don't dislike LeBron or the Heat. They're a great team.
I just think SA is good enough to beat them three more times over the next 5 possible games.

Now you're just being obtuse on purpose. I'm not trying to fight with you. This is stupid.
Nothing you can say will convince me beyond a shadow of a doubt that SA is over matched and/or has no chance. Conversely, I'm not arguing that the Heat are a pittance and not to be feared. I like Lebron. I like the Heat's team, but I believe SA can beat them (of course), and your entitled to your opinion as well

I'm defying logic. The guy telling me that I'm defying logic is the same guy telling me the Spurs solidified they were the better team in a game they lost at home, but I'm defying logic.
Again, is this real life?

quote:Again, your reading comprehension is so far off, I can't even begin to fathom how you got that from anything I've said. I've said nothing even close to that, so why would you bring that up? I'd be interested to see an honest answer to what posts of mine, specifically, led you to believe I said SA has no chance and is overmatched beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Here's my very 1st reply to you today:
Here's what you turned it into...right after saying I was defying logic:
I think that says it all.

These teams, through 9 games(Finals last season) have proved that they are about as evenly matched as it gets. The difference last season was Miami having the best player on the court, and I suspect it'll be the same this season, but either way, it'll be highly entertaining to watch

I said I believe SA is the better team. I didn't say jack about game 2 solidifying that. You're making shite up, son
ETA: I take it back. I was mistaken. My apologies

And there is nothing wrong with that statement. This isn't a zero sum game.

I believe SA is the better team, and that was solidified by SA being in the game/leading while LeBron was playing about as well as one can expect him to play.
