I don't really have a problem with what the NBA has done because they boxed themselves in a corner earlier this year when they threatened to move it if nothing changed, so they stood by that threat. My issue is how they'll stay consistent going forward - they won't.

ETA: The PR thing really baffles me though. The ASG was more than a year out and this shite would have hardly been a blip on the radar at that point. If they would have ridden out the initial outrage they'd be fine now, but instead they made a threat that gave them no choice.

The Charlotte tourism board said the ASG was worth 100 million dollars. I'd love to see that report and all the bull shite needed to get at that inflates number.

The potential $$ from future tourism due to the city's ability to advertise itself through media across the country during that weekend is infinite!!

Outside of the fiasco in Las Vegas where the gang bangers from Oakland, etc came to town and fcked shite up, I don't remember any real problems with this event.
I know it's always gone off without a hitch in Nola.

I was at some of the Vegas festivities then. The only real problem the NBA had, and stated afterwards, was that traffic on and around the LV strip is shite. They said they wouldn't come back until it was addressed.

Based on Nola's 2014 ASW that generated ~60M in direct spending and ~40M in indirect secondary spending.
