Honest question…because I don’t know. How many total schools compete in that class with JC? What’s the average class size in the state?

With the recent split in Texas, you may have an entire class with only a hundred schools. They used to have about 200 each. It feels kind of watered down now.

It’s been different over the years

Classes were big when J.T. started winning championships but then we’ve added 5A, split, and expanded the split again

Right now I think there’s like 30 teams in 5A select which is Curtis’s division

The Valdosta High School Wildcats have won:

National Championships: 6
State Championships: 24
Region Championships: 46

Lowndes High (Valdosta is in Lowndes County)

State Championships: 5

Valwood (private school in Valdosta)

State Championships: 7

The annual Valdosta/Lowndes game is the Winnersville Classic.

Valdosta is TitleTown USA!!

While not high school, Valdosta State has won four D-II Championships.

It’s probably fine for the High School football hall of fame

I’d build it in City Park next to Tad Gormley

That sounds so watered down. I realize the best teams in LA are really good, on par with the best in any other state in the South. It just seems like a school could win a title by being the best out of 40 or so in its class, and that could come with little to no competition.

FWIW, I love when the TX and LA schools battle in pre district games. I wish it was a more frequent thing.

Other cities under consideration are Biloxi, Mississippi, along with Pittsburgh,

It needs to be in Pittsburgh.

It's the cradle.of football and more championship players hail from Western/SW PA than anywhere else .

That would be fine if it was an all-Texas HOF

Honestly I don’t think a National HS football HOF would work. It’s best when kept at the statewide level like HS football itself
