That is one of the most incredible turnarounds I can ever remember. That series in Miami last year was probably going to be his last chance, then he suddenly caught fire and hasn't slowed down since.

It’s one of the most long sustained past mid years and drama revivals I can think of. Dudes beeen a monster and is apparently great for the clubhouse…If not his house house

I'm not sure if it was his last chance, but I'm glad it happened when it did. Even when he was slumping to start last season, he was still hitting the ball really hard when he made contact, unlike in 2022 when he just looked completely out of sorts. Once he cut down the strikeouts, he returned to his 2020 production and that has, so far, carried over this month.

Ozuna being a wife beater is great for the locker room but Bauer sure as hell wouldn’t be.

I've been obsessed with the concept of "lengthening the lineup" since 2020 when the NL added the DH and Ozuna lost his mind. As a fan of the NL, it was the 1st time I'd actually seen its effect every day. Helped me appreciate 2023 LSU too, which had zero holes, zero chances for pitchers to catch their breath. But I don't think I can name anybody that has lengthened a lineup as much as Marcel in 2020 and from that Miami series last year until now. It's incredible how much 1 guy can exponentially affect a lineup like that. It just takes so much pressure off the rest of the lineup while depositing it on the opposing pitcher. Not sure what number best quantifies it, but watching it every day, it's so obvious.
