He does say "most" and throws out interesting scenarios for football, including 7 on 7 only.

I figure people are eventually going to have enough of this sh*t.

All these lockdowns, cancellations, just mass f'ing hysteria perpetuating itself.

Ton of speculation in there.

quote:

sure, but it also has proved that we weren’t finding and treating as many people dealing with Covid-19 (or asymptomatic people) as we could have.

Then he pulls this shite.

I think we are already at this point.

Every day things are getting more and more back to normal, as things are reopening.

Amazing to me that people can’t imagine how much things will change in 3 months and assume well still be sitting at home by then unless this thing starts effecting younger/healthier people. The cats out of the bag and it’s not going back in

I work for a school district in mississippi. Talked to our AD last week. The state gave a june 1st date to resume sports, but AD said that is a crock of shite, that they said that publically to make people happy and that from every phone conf he has had it doesnt seem that is anywhere close. That he didnt expect us to have high school football this fall, and if anyway we do, that it will be no fans allowed.

Reminder that the average age of death in SC from Covid is 74.9.

Lets keep punishing the young people!

I don’t get the mind set of people who seem to be actively rooting for another outbreak or a longer shut down.

Like I fully understand the concern about opening up too early, and believe me I’m not COVID truther, but we should all have the same goal here, to get shite back on track and it feels like some people are more concerned about being right about this being the plague than they are about ending it

They want it shut down to force more people to rely on the government so things like UBI become commonplace

I don’t think that’s it. Think that’s a lot smaller of a case than people want it to be.

A lot servers and industry types that are very liberal that see this as a means to an end

Reddit is full of chapos that were actively rooting for a revolution. They see covid as an opportunity to have one while shitposting on the internet instead of taking arms.

Having a revolution where someone has your IP address and knows where to find you isn’t the best plan.

Well if they announce June 1, then you'd assume many coaches will schedule practices for then. Does the AD think parents won't let their kids go or something?

All depends what field you are in. I’m in construction and we hire a lot of laborers and are struggling to fill openings because of this.

A guy last week that I interviewed said if we didn’t offer a certain percentage more than his unemployment pay he was just going to stay home.

As we saw with the 2008-2010 unemployment period, anyone who decides to wait out thinks on unemployment may have huge problems finding a job when the money stops.

If businesses think you are lazy, they aren’t going to want to take a chance on you if they have better alternatives available.

I assume it’s the state’s HS athletic association. They do not have the final call. The state government and county school systems can place different orders. They can also extend the dead period again, which has already happened in some states

Even if sports do resume June 1st, guidelines are as strict as no more than 10 people at a time and cannot use a ball or equipment.

It’s frustrating. If any state appears to be starting fall sports on time, I could see a bunch of transfers to those states

The state announced june 1st a few weeks ago. But AD said with all conference calls past couple weeks it seems that june first date will be pushed back more. That they said that just to pacify people at the time. He said he will be surprised if we have fall football. That right now they are just trying to figure out if we have actual school, or continue distance learning. Unreal

From another board regarding a “second wave”

quote:

2. China just tested 9 million residents of Wuhan. Guess how many +PCR tests they found? 218. No, not 218k, not 21.8k, not 2.18k. 218. "Most of those nine million samples have already been processed, according to a daily record of nucleic-acid tests by Wuhan health authorities. As of Sunday, they said, the mass testing identified 218 asymptomatic carriers of the coronavirus, who were put under quarantine and monitored for symptoms. Just one of those cases was later recategorized as a confirmed case."

Can you say no second wave? A ripple...from a pebble in a pool. One symptomatic case out of 9 million?! Think about this, they are about 2 months ahead of us on the timeline. This is our July/August people... that's what testing will look like then in the US. If these numbers are true, the virus just dies off, a la original SARS.
