"MVP" is kind of a stupid name for an award

If you think about it, Peyton Manning is easily the NFL's "most valuable" player this year, and he hasn't taken a single snap
They should change the name of the award

Well you can't be the most valuable player if you aren't playing. Simple semantics man.

Wait, a guy who hasn't played a single snap has most contributed to his teams wins?

colts would have been 10-6 best case scenario this year.

It should be "Player of the Year" or something like that.

Player in each being key words.

jesus, you manning cocksuckers might as well rename the award after fetushead.
the mvp = best player, and yes journalists come up with their own retarded ways of determining "value", etc...but they'll do that even if the award was "qb who has thrown the most TD passes", "well, aaron rodgers ran for 10 touchdowns and I think that should count"
MVP is rodgers with Brees/Brady/Allen breathing down his neck

Yes. Manning should not get MVP. The logic is on the right track that this year may prove his value to his team, but you don't give it to someone who has not played a down.

I'm not saying manning should get an award, obviously
I'm saying the name of the award is a bit misleading

They should just call it the "Most Outstanding Skill Position Player" award considering only 3 non QB/WR/RBs have ever won it.

Hopefully the football God's have given Brady enough shite to counter last year's amazing amount of luck a la interception streak.

Like 09...the performances from week 11 to 14 will decide.

I think everyone on the MSB knows I'm the biggest Brady homer that's ever lived.
That being said, it is, at this point in time, the MVP is Aaron Rodgers to lose, not somebody else's to win. The man is on fire, has a fantastic WRing group, and is a helluva leader. The only thing that can let him down is the offensive line and the RBs. As a Brady fan, I really hope he cools off, as a football fan, this very well could be the changing of the guards from a Brady/Manning/Brees top three.

the amazing part about this is that this is not the first thread with this exact same opinion

Neither have I, but if I was the Colts QB this year, their record couldn't be worse.
