It doesn't have anything to do with being lazy. rhabdo was pretty much nonexistent prior to these crossfit style workouts.

I feel like the only part about your story that's true is that you gained 7 lbs at Thanksgiving.

Oregon players, who have been under the guidance of new head coach Willie Taggart for just over a month, continued to participate in the same workouts this week. Per The Oregonian, those workouts have been compared to basic military training, including “up to an hour of continuous push-ups and up-downs.” Oregon’s strength coach is Irele Oderinde, who came over to the school from USF with Taggart.
Coach preaches toughness.

Same coach will punt on every 4th and inches.

So many coaches are such clowns.

Yea but these days when someone is admitted to the hospital with rhabdo brown piss 95 times out of 100 it's due to crossfit/these other high intensity workouts that are offshoots.

HIIT was around long before crossfit. It isn't an offshoot

well you gotta say crossfit brought the type of workout to the mainstream. 5-6 years ago when most were still going to traditional gyms I don't think we were seeing as much of this rhabdo.

I'm not an actual doctor.

My name is inspired by an actual doctor though. You should Google and look up his contributions to modern medicine.

A long long time ago when I used to know what a gym looked like, I'd see boom working on those forearms with the wrist roll up for the 45 min I was there

Not really true. You heard about it more as CrossFit became popular because globo gyms have worked to delegitimize CrossFit. A "study" they released was just found to be largely falsified in attempt to steer people from CrossFit. To the on who said it's probably from being lazy, this is probably the cause. A power lifter could easily get rhabdo if he went from the couch to doing 1 hour of nonstop lifting. It's when your muscles aren't ready for the workload and break down and enter the bloodstream. People who have been working out at a high level don't get rhabdo.

The only person I know personally who got rhabdo had been doing crossfit for a couple years then did some pull up challenge where he did a couple - several hundred in a half hour then spent the next 4 days in the hospital.
