MTSU women's basketball player murdered

Stewart, 21, of Memphis died as a result of the incident, which occurred around 7 p.m., according to information from police spokesman Kyle Evans.

Two people are in custody - a male and a female.

A third individual, described as a black female, 5-feet-2 wearing blue jeans and a black top, is being sought by police.

Police are not sure whether she was stabbed or shot. An autopsy will be conducted.

A press conference is scheduled for 9:45 p.m. at MTMC.

It seems like a stab wound and a gunshot wound would look different..
