Joe Alleva, who's held the position of LSU's athletic director for more than a decade, is expected to step down as soon as Wednesday, according to the Baton Rouge Business Report.

The reported move comes at a time when the LSU athletic program is embroiled in controversy, tied to a sprawling college basketball corruption scandal that includes a lengthy FBI investigation into the sport.

I'm seeing reports that A&Ms AD could be his replacement.

We'll see. Would be a home run hire. I get the allure of "coming home" but IMO A&M is a way better spot for an AD gig. With the higher ed budget cuts and a university president who isn't an ally to athletics, LSU athletics has been turned into a political volleyball. Not sure that element exists in Texas.

The refs, Coach O, F. King, Bama/Saban cheating, UK/Calipari cheating, SEC bias, ESPN, liberalism, price of crawfish. It's Louisiana, they will find somebody/something to blame

In fairness, USCw is one of the few places where hiring Alleva would be an upgrade.
