Taylor Mays in high school.
Our team made the mistake of kicking him the ball on the opening kickoff. I think he reversed fields 4 or 5 times before he scored a TD. Out of bounds was the best option the rest of the game. He also had the hardest hit I've ever seen live.

I saw Chris Jackson at Gulfport High

Never seen anything close to it before or since, he was amazing and 16 years old.

I was 20 years old and giddy like a schoolgirl, it was scary

Kickapoo as a powerhouse? What? Was Roy still coaching? I never was impressed by them.

I forgot to add Joe Falcon, Olympic and NCAA champ. He was striding out one day when we had our WR and PG run qtrs as part of off season workout at end of semester. He bet them he would run them down giving them a 40 meter lead and it wasn't close.

Trindon Holliday in high school track. I was in the track infield after finishing the mile at the state championships. Well I saw the dude zoomed right in front of me running the 100m, and I was in complete awe.

Another one was Ronnie Alexander running a 46.4 400m right in front of me. He let up at the end too because he was so far ahead.

Yes, in the mid 2000's were dominant. Even nationally ranked one year.

Seems like Kickapoo almost went a decade without losing a conference game.

Lester Earl

Saw him vs Belaire in a multiple(3?) overtime game when I was in middle school. Felt like we were watching the next great NBA star. Dude fizzled

To add to this thread seeing Anthony Peeler and Todd Day in Bass Pro ToC Finals was jaw dropping. I had never seen a guy tall as Day just be slick, and 2nd half Peeler was unstoppable. Then later, as a Student Mgr, watching Teddy Dupay spot from the D in HSC bringing rain.

Randy was great. A great player. Shocking? No.

Lester Earl? Not even close. He was a really good athlete for his size, but I blocked his shot once or twice, and I'm white.

An LSU RB who never did much for LSU but I saw Kendall Cleveland play a high school football game his senior year. Probably my 1st or 2nd year in college. He was a man among boys. It was not even close. For him to just make it on LSU's roster shows the talent level involved.

Shaun Alexander. Absolutely trucked my high school's best shot at a state title when he was at Boone Co. A young girl was crushed and amazed at the same time.

In high school, I played against Brandon Johnson who later played fullback at Auburn from 2000-2003. He simply ran over people and it was rare to see him get tackled by just one guy. He wasn't the fastest guy but his strength was phenomenal. He was the tailback on offense and played strong safety on a defense that didn't allow a point in its first eight games of 1998.

One of my earliest memories of watching college football was in 1988 when Derrick Thomas dominated in a game against Texas A&M. I think he had like 5 sacks in that game and had a total of 27 for the season, incredible.

I entered this thread to say Chris Jackson, but he's already got plenty of love it seems. Probably my favorite high school player of all time, and I love football and baseball infitely more. He could have wiped his arse with the American flag and he will always be my favorite college basketball player of all time. Nobody will ever be able to do what he did the way he did it. Truly remarkable.

another Bo Jackson vote, from his time playing for the Memphis Chicks

Aside from the sound of the ball off his bat, how fast he ran when he didn't crush the ball, and the strikes in warmups from deep right to 3B, I don't remember what else it was that impressed me.
