not sure why Tommy Bowden keeps getting put on this list.

Who out there has ever said Tommy is a good coach? I would think to be overrated at least one person would have to think he's a good coach.

3. Tommy Bowden...I would put him at #2 but folks are finally beginning to catch on that this guy just isn't very good. Has he ever won a big game? As soon as I saw that he'd signed a new long term contract, I thought, "That's one more team LSU won't have to worry about for at least 5 more years."

Really? Is the team over-rated or is he over-rated? Where was Clemson before him? He brought there program back to respectability. If he could have kept RRod, he would be doing much better.

I'd add Saban to that list.

You just scored big points with some of the ranters on here.

Buckeye fans still love Tressel I guess.

Not as much as Youngstown State fans.

I think he gave them a million bucks a couple years ago, plus their 400k to show up to ohio stadium every year.

And because YSU's current head coach sucks. Kind of funny that he's the brother of Ohio St's Defensive Coordinator, who also sucks.

Here's how you can determine which of these coaches are over rated. If Miles left tomorrow would you like to see Tressel, Carroll or any of these other guys on the list coaching at LSU.

I'd love to have Carroll here, he's a recruiting machine, already been to the pros and knows how to win.

I'd take Carrol or Tressel in a second if Big Les left. But Big Les isn't going anywhere. Miles Mania FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!

Pete Carroll...he has 20 plus states to chose from plus 30 million people in California. The media hypes him as God and the conference he plays in is joke. He will lose to someone this year...Virginia was a smokescreen!

Charlie Weis...he keeps getting excuses made for him. Why?

There you go. That's the answer. And that eliminated Carroll and Tressel from the list. It also eliminated Rich Rod in my book. Remember when Tulane went undefeated--it was thanks to Rich Rod. The guy can coach, he just doesn't have "his" kind of players yet. If Michigan sucks in 2010, then he'll get canned and I will have been wrong. But he's a decent recruiter (remember, he's been convincing kids to move to Morgantown, West Virginia) and a terrific offensive mind.

Charlie Weis
Phil Fulmer
Kirk Ferentz
Dave Wannstedt
Tommy Bowden

Next in line if burnout in bowl - Bob Stoops

It would be interesting to hear what your criteria is:

-- recruited talent vs. results
-- salary vs. results
-- hype vs. results?

Charlie Weiss. Top recruiting classes and one of the worst teams in football. Doesn't add up after 3 yrs.

(1) Charlie Weiss by far!!!!!!!!!!! beyond horrible
(2) Mack Brown
(3) Steve Spurrier ( recently)
(4) Nick Saban ( say all you want, but the guys has only had one season where he's lost less than 3 games... To me, that's not defined as such an amazing coach as everybody seems to think)
(5) Jim Tressell

no way in hell meyer is on that list. Dont get me wrong, I have as much hatred for UF as anybody dead or living, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he's one hell of a coach. Look at his record as a head coach......

No way in hell Bob Stoops makes the list either. Ok, so he's a choke artist sometimes, definately if it's in bowl games, but look at what he's done for that team. He's a top 5 coach in the country.

Kirk Ferentz for sure, the most over paid coach that does not win.
