Kareem’s one of those mythical sports figures along the lines of Russell, Chamberlain, Pele, Jackie Robinson, Babe Ruth, Jim Brown, Muhammad Ali. No doubt the time he played in before cable and social media plays a big role in that analysis. All the dude did was win and look good doing it.

Gretzky was damn near unstoppable in the early-80s. The most dominant player I’ve ever seen.

Shaq, Wilt Chamberlain, and Giannis
Can go ahead and add Magic Johnson, Hakeem Olajuwon, & LeBron James for basketball.
Jim Brown, Lawrence Taylor, Walter Peyton, Deacon Jones, Barry Sanders, Don Hutson, & Dick Lane for football.
Hank Aaron, Barry Bonds, Sandy Koufax, Cy Young, Babe Ruth, & Ken Griffey Jr. for baseball

Rod Laver
Won grand slam as an amateur in ‘62.
Couldn’t compete in grand slam events —due to turning pro — until the open era; then won the grand slam again.

Barry Bonds was on a different level than anyone not named Wayne Gretzky or Micheal Phelps.
The things that man was capable of on the diamond is still unreal.
And I know everyone is going to scream steroids but A) damn near everyone in his era was juicing to some degree and B) Steroids didn’t effect his pitch selection which was at least 15 years before its time.
Teams are just now coming around, after an infinite amount of data has become a available to them, what Bonds knew instinctually. He was the progenitor of launch angle. He was as good at identifying the pitch in relation to strike zone as any player who has ever lived and he did all of that against the golden age of pitchers.
I hate the man but he was the greatest to ever hit a baseball and it’s not really close.

Tiger and it's not really even close

I'm not a golf guy but wasn't Tiger Woods so dominant that courses had to alter themselves to make it more difficult for Woods? eta: Apples to oranges I know but imagine if other sports changed the dimensions of the playing field because 1 guy was just killing everyone.
It actually played into his strength, too. Tiger is longer than everyone, so let’s make the courses longer? Took away the Justin Leonard’s of the PGA and made this a bombers tour. Tiger was definitely one of the most dominant physically and mentally in his prime.
Barry Bonds.
