but when players are so used to a routine day after day and an unforeseen situation like this happens, it's human nature to be at least somewhat psychologically affected by it.

So why did the 49ers thrive in the unforeseen situation?

Both teams were delayed, obviously.

The Ravens were in a rhythm, the Niners didn't have a rhythm to lose.

The whole idea is laughable that people fall for that cliche stuff.

Thank you. Momentum is BS. Basically, it means whoever scored/made a great play most recently. A team gets up 21-0, so they have momentum. Then the other team returns a KO, now they have momentum. Something magical didn't pass from one team to the other. What happens in games where the lead changes 8 or 9 times? Momentum is a fickle beotch.

Same thing with the whole 'the team that gets hot at the right time' wins the Superbowl or March Madness cliche. Well no shiite sherlock, it's tournament. If you're not 'hot', you can't win. As a rule, you have to be on a 6-game winning streak to be the NCAA champion...
