I think it’s more just good clock management. Have the lead and get the ball 1st in the second half.

Nah. Every other game we hear about teams trying to score before half and get the ball after half time so they can double up because that's what Bill Belichick likes to do.
If they call TO after the sack they've got 1.45 and a TO. If you've got confidence in your QB you are going for points even if you're starting at your 10.
