MLB.TV is like 110 bucks. I prefer having the Extra Innings Package which is only like 180 or 190 bucks.

Does this reasoning not make sense to anyone else?

How do you prefer paying for something extra that has less features?

Because I like to watch the games on all 4 TVs in my house?

I don't really need it to make sense to you or to anyone else in the thread. I like getting the Extra Innings package through Directv.

What a defensive response. Just asking a simple question.

Makes NO sense to me.

I'm guessing that the reason MLB hasn't cracked down on it is because they are at least getting people exposed to the game of baseball. I know that most of the people that use my account would not likely buy there own if they were prevented from using mine.

For the first time ever I was blocked from Netflix (which is an account that my wife pays for) the other night. Said we were logged in in too many places. I guess they allow 2 simultaneous logins.

Well you actually said my reasoning doesn't make sense. Makes perfect sense to me. I like to watch the games on all the TVs in my house. Not really hard to figure that one out.

I am guessing he is older and likely doesn't have streaming capabilities attached to each TV. Once you have a Roku/Boxee/AppleTV in every room then it becomes silly to pay the extra money.

Yea MLBtv is great. Maybe it's a bad assumption but i figure everyone has eitehr a tv or a device connected to it by now that lets you enjoy this amazing product.

This is correct, so it makes perfect sense to buy it through Directv if I would like to watch the games on the TVs in my house. Also had a lightening strike at my house a few months back and the HDMI inputs on 2 of my TV's no longer work. Directv is hooked up with component cables, but I don't feel like spending the extra money to get those fixed on an older TV and don't feel like spending the money to replace the TVs just to save 70 bucks on the MLB package.

Here in Memphis the cardinals reds and braves are all blacked

Why in the Wide, Wide World of Sports would the Braves be blacked out in Memphis? Atlanta is 6 hours away!

This is the first time I wanted/needed to buy MLB.tv and so I'm just now learning about all the crazy MLB blackout rules.

I can understand a more localized blackout to try to boost ticket sales, but I don't understand what MLB has to gain by extending the blackout radius for teams by hundreds of miles.

Makes sense then. I just assumed that all people have streaming capabilities on on their TVs.

The blackout rules make no sense. Why are Ranger games blacked out in Baton Rouge? Its just insane.

Only on 2 TVs. I watch a lot of late night games in the bedroom also and that is one of the ones that I don't have the streaming capabilities on.

It has more to do with whatever games are carried by your regional sports affiliate.

Fox Sports (New Orleans, I guess or perhaps FSSW) carries the Rangers and Astros, thus the games are blacked out on MLB.tv.

Same thing happens with NHL and the Dallas Stars.

This season, The Astros switched to their new network, Comcast Sports, which isn't available on Baton Rouge Cox Cable. I've been told that those games will be blacked out in BR, even though their new channel isn't available in BR, so the only way to see them this season is when they play on ESPN, Fox National, or against the Rangers (FSN Rangers broadcast)

Yep...watching at work or on the go is a big plus for me.
