As they should, two World Series in 5 years plus another appearance

Garcia will replace Montgomery in the rotation if they acquire Gray.

I figure 6 man, Montgomery has been too good to phase out

I would hope for 6-man, but Cashman said after they acquired Garcia that they aren't considering that.
Who knows if that's true, though. We'll have to see when/if they get Gray.

Yea, as I mentioned earlier the high for Montgomery is 140 innings. Figure the Yankees want to stretch him to 150 including playoffs. Maybe skip some of his starts or push him back?

I think 6-man rotation makes a lot of sense.
Like I said, 3 off days remaining. When those off days come, skip Montgomery's starts.
If the Yankees get a big enough lead on Boston, maybe skip one or two of Severino's starts.

Yeah, no point in going 150+ on each of those guys

How did Romine not leave this game? That looked awful.

Also, I know we were talking earlier about sending Cooper down instead of Frazier.
I forgot about Tyler Austin. He'll be back around the same time as Hicks. He can platoon at 1st base, as well. With the bolstered bullpen and the addition of Garcia, Cessa will likely be sent back down.
Hicks and Austin come back, Cooper and Cessa go down.
When Castro returns, Tyler Wade gets sent down.
I think Chasen Shreve will stay up as the only lefty in the pen (besides Chapman, of course).

I agree with that....
Wonder if the Yankees could swap Ellsbury for Cuerto or Bailey... Not sure what their deals look like, I know Ellsbury is owed 64 million

Trash appearance by Montgomery. If they don't go to 6-man, he's the odd man out. Both due to his inconsistency and the innings limit.
Posted on 7/30/17 at 1:26 pm to BayouBengals03
Inconsistency? He has allowed more than 3 runs only 4 times all year... Now going past 5 has been an issue if that is what you mean

The Dodgers have been talking to the Rangers about star starter Yu Darvish and appear to be the favorite there, and are also pursuing at least a pair of top lefty relievers, Zach Britton and Justin Wilson. It’s possible the Dodgers could add Darvish and one of the two lefty relievers if things work out.
quote:and he seems to be recovering faster than expected
The Dodgers have checked in on Gray themselves, but appear more interest in Darvish, which could be because there are concerns about their own ace Clayton Kershaw, who is out with a back ailment (though Kershaw is expected back at some point this year).

The Dodgers remain strong in their resolve not to trade either of their top two prospects — pitcher Walker Buehler or outfielder Alex Verdugo — but they have a deep prospect stash so they can’t be counted out in these pursuits

Wait the Sox traded within the division?

He made one start for Minnesota, so bizarre

The Sharyland white chicks loved him in hs.

Calallen ran shite baseball wise down there back in the day

I think they were 4A at the time i was in hs so we never played. They did always beat up on the rgv squads until they ran into Edinburg.
