How long until hicks come off the dl? With red thunder playing well, itll be interesting to see if they send him or cooper down and do backup 1st base by committee.

Can't send Frazier down.

It'll be Cooper. Romine can play first against certain lefties.

Don't forget Todd Frazier can play first too, if necessary.

Yeah Frazier is here to stay now. Curious if they will just release Ellsbury

yeah, I was thinking why move for Lucroy until I saw their catchers.

That turns into a deadly lineup from 1-8

Yeah, I knew Lucroy was having a rough year after his career year last year. Just didn't realize their catchers we're having a worse year

Less than a week ago, girardi said frazier would be sent down. Kid is playing too well imo to be sent down.

Any word on hicks, that same girardi presser earlier in the week said a few more weeks.

Gardner, Judge, Frazier, Hicks as the backup...
Trade or release Ellsbury (if trade obviously eating that contract)

Nobody is dumb enough to take ellsburys contract, even with financial help from the yankees. I assume when releasing him, the number still counts against the luxury tax they are trying so hard to get under. If they dont release him, he turns into the highest paid pinch runner in the league.

They aren't going to release Ellsbury.

And only can trade him if it's involved in a trade for like Verlander or Stanton or something. Not gonna happen.

They can release him and eat the 64 million he is owed. Of course then another team can sign him for the vet minimum.
I don't see them doing it but it is an option since they will not send Frazier down. With Hicks returning in the next two weeks Ellsbury becomes a #5 OF

Would be crazy if Nats grabbed him for Robles though... Max, Yu, Strasburg, Gio... Holy shite

Looks like we'll be rolling with Kershaw on short rest again this postseason.

I know WGA disagrees but I think the Dodgers need an impact arm they can count on in the postseason. Wood and Hill have been fantastic but I would feel better with a You orGray behind Kershaw

i'm right there with you. if winning a WS this year means getting rid of some prospects, DO IT. prospects aren't guaranteed to do anything at the next level.

Yeah, everyone hates giving up a player that turns great but it is rare. If you can win a WS you go for it, get Gray and you have a rotation of Kershaw, Gray, Wood, Hill, BMac/Kazmir/Ryu next year anyway

but im not against trading prospects

im against trading high level prospects who are about to be playing in the majors, because those are by far the most valuable assets in all of baseball, and im against trading anyone of stature for a rental

its a question of value and how the dodgers dont need to make a move because we are so far ahead and we have no glaring need and should just wait for the right deal to fall in place. if it doesnt, oh well

Grabbing Gray vs an MLB ready pitcher... You are hoping that pitcher turns into what Gray already is. I get it is you still had holes but this makes that post season rotation scary.
