Dbacks need a few SP and bullpen guys. I'll take anyone at this point.

Poor Hunter Pence. A trade at the deadline has become a yearly thing for him.

The Rangers have not ended discussions with other teams, they just appear to be having second thoughts about the value of making a trade right now with the way the team is going.
So much so that the Dallas Morning News reported (print version only, sorry for no link) that the team has had "internal discussions" about trading Joe Nathan.

From FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal comes word that the Braves “have shown interest” in acquiring left-handed reliever Joe Thatcher from the Padres.

Thatcher, 31, has posted a dominant 2.15 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 29/4 K/BB ratio in 29 1/3 innings of relief this season for San Diego while holding left-handed batters to a .190/.235/.206 slash line. He’s making $1.35 million this summer and will be arbitration-eligible for third and final time heading into 2014.

Teams in need of a closer soon may have a stunning new possibility to consider.
The Texas Rangers have had internal discussions about trading All-Star right-hander Joe Nathan, according to major league sources.
If the Rangers proceed, it would be with the idea of dealing from strength and exploiting a thin market for relievers, sources said.

#Mariners had top-level scout on #Padres last week, per @jonmorosi. Reason, according to a source: M’s looking for offense and have interest in #Padres OF/1B Kyle Blanks. The problem: Blanks is not close to returning from tendinitis in both Achilles. #Mariners
Doesn't make sense to be there for an injured player. Doubt the Mariners are 'buyers' but if there was a veteran corner OF under contract for next year I bet they'd be interested. Wonder if they are looking at Quentin.

Peavy has cleaned out his locker. Sounding like the A's.

Jeff Passan ? @JeffPassan Jake Peavy trade is not imminent, according to interested teams. Sox GM Rick Hahn still shopping best deal. Asking price higher than Garza.

I would be surprised, A's never make a move like this

Are they kidding me?
The reason why Nathan was signed in 2012 was because Feliz is no longer effective as a closer (or any other role for that matter). And now they think he can regain that role?
Scheppers is liable to have PTSD from being attacked on a food run.
Ogando could be the closer--if he wasn't so insistent on being a starter (which he did for an entire 1/2 season, then the rest of the league caught up).
Soria is still an unknown at this point coming back from arm surgery.
We sell a good chunk of the farm for a pitcher--and now want to trade one? I am convinced that JD is bipolar.

Braves are out for Peavy.
A's and Cardinals most likely destination in that order.
Cardinals are prepared to offer Carlos Martinez, Joe Kelly, Kolten Wong for Peavy and Ramirez.

Same, Mo said pregame a trade is unlikely, market wants too much for too little.
I agree.

The White Sox are fricking stupid.
They want a teams top 2 prospects for an injury prone average pitcher like Jake Peavy.
Such a dumbfrick organization.
