I really do not want Bud Norris tbh. If we can't get Peavy at a decent price

Peavy (32) 4.19 ERA. making $14,500,000 this year, next year and has a $15,000,000 player option for 2015.
Norris (28) 3.91 ERA. making $3,000,000 this year, team controlled until 2016.

Catcher depth is important. He at least will be a major league backup because of his defense.
Plus Gattis isn't a cant miss guy or anything. His defense is still questionable. He'll probably hit, but durability is a question too.
That's why they'd keep him

We cannot afford Norris through arbitration with our entire core about to hit arb at the same time. Only way we can take Peavy is if the White Sox eat some salary next year.
Our best bet next year is finding the best 5 out of
Beachy
Minor
Teheran
Medlen
Wood
Graham

I'd be fine with BUd, but not for that price.
We already gave up a top prospect for shitty Maholm and average-ish Reed Johnson.

What would it take to get Bauer from the Indians you think?

I don't see why they'd move him. They are contending and they just gave up some top prospects to get him.

How would this help us? He is not somebody who would help us down the stretch at all.
I was as much a Bauer believer as anybody this time last year, but I wouldn't be surprised if he never figures it out the more I watch him.

I don't want any of the starters available with the except of Ervin Santana.
Hell no to Peavy and Bud Norris, especially for their asking price.
Glad the Cards aren't going to do anything, not worth Wacha or Martinez.

Alright guys. We need a right-handed bat for the outfield. I know...Michael Young!
Ugh.
Who is he going to replace? Jeff Baker. frick. That. Noise. Profar? No thanks.
The only way I'm on board with that is if it's to replace Berkman.

Well yeah he would take Berkmans DH spot

Have I missed something on Berkman. I know he's being a little bitch about the rehab assignment, but have they said they don't want him back?

Berkman, who hasn't played since July 6 because of a left hip injury, said Thursday that's he thought about retiring or not coming back this season, but hasn't made a final decision.

Texas Rangers 1B Lance Berkman (hip, knee) is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list, but he said Wednesday, July 24, that he isn't even close to being ready. "Somewhere in the distant future. We'll see," Berkman said of a return. He went on the 15-day disabled list due to inflammation in his left hip, and he has chronic soreness in his right knee.

Haha - so yes. I have.
JUST saw that, though.
Still, I'd hope we could find someone other than Michael Young. I just don't like the guy anymore. Maybe a lot of that has to do with Ron Washington's nauseating obsession with him. If he's back on the Rangers, he'll end up starting 50% of the time at 1B or some shite. But Ron's going to find a way to overexpose him.

They're not going to trade for MY. That is really just stupid. Yes, they need a right handed bat. But, I still think they need a power bat and also to be able to play in the outfield.
Alex Rios is probably the most realistic. Followed by Morales, even though he can't play outfield he might be the biggest bat available.
