4th in the AL in ERA.

Our main issue the last two months has been bats, not pitching.

Sure, Oswalt has sucked. Yu has been inconsistent. But Harrison has been beast, we got Holland back and Feldman has been awesome the last month.

We will see what happens.

ETA: I think we have the best bullpen in the AL.

I would have hated for us to use any of our top 3 prospect for rentals. Sucks a move hasn't been made, but the Rangers issues can be fixed internally.

Yeah, but who would be dumb enough to trade one of their three best prospects for a guy that's due $95 million over the next 3.5 years?

Come on, man. You have to give talent to get it. Cliff Lee has been one of the premier pitchers in baseball the past couple of seasons. I honestly do not think the contract is that bad because I expect him to pitch at a very high level for the next couple of seasons.

Why the frick would Philly want to pay Cliff to pitch in Arlington? You are not even being remotely realistic in this thread.

Trade an unknown for a proven, you have no idea how a prospect will perform, look at Miller for Card and countless other prospects. If Cliff Lee is missing piece to winning a WS you go for it..... You gonna him onto to prospects that won't produce for 2-3 years or win a WS? Because in 2-3 years Rangers won't look like this with Kinsler, Young, Beltre, Cruz all being 30+ you go all in now

6th. After kicking arse in the first month. Starter production is down and Lewis, probably the 2nd best starter, is out. Big dropoff after Harrison right now.

June - #6
July - #7

The starters are average. If you consider 8th in AL ERA then yes, the Rangers have the best pen.

My understanding is that the Cubs really want Webster and are trying to add to Dempster in order to get him. Deal not done yet.

Feldman has a .60 ERA since break and Holland I under 4.00 in July so it isn't horrible. But how Lee is a #1 and can be a difference maker down the stretch.

I get you have to give talent up. I'm willing to part with Perez. But given the Rangers current financial situation and the ownership group already over budget, it makes sense to revisit this at some other point.

But you also have to take into consideration the Phils' view...they want salary relief and prospects. I think the Rangers can give them the prospects, but it makes no sense to take on that full contract.

This isn't only my opinion, it apparently is the front office's as well.

You are entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. Part of the reason there is rumblings that Lee will be traded is that the Phillies want salary relief. It's a terrible contract. A fricking $16 million buyout or a $27.5 million option in 2016? frick that.

Without injuries; Holland, Lewis, and Feliz hurt (3/5th of the opening day rotation) all got hurt thereafter.

And I'd like to see the pen ERA through May. That's before Ogando, Uehera, Lowe, et al got hurt. We've got half of AAA in the pen right now.

This.

Let's try to keep it civil in here guys. It's a foum for fans to express opinions. Unless someone on here is secretly on the payroll as a scout for a big league team, we're all just fans expressing opinions.

shite. Would rather have given up Hector Sanchez personally because Joseph has the potential to play a position other than catcher.

Wonder who the other player will be.

Well they can't exactly pitch from the dl. They need help.

Just a few of his personal attacks

Any thread on USC or the PAC 12, he comes in derailing the thread with personal homophobic attacks that are unwarranted.

It doesn't even have to be Lee. Garza wouldn't be bad it would just take something better than a trade I could pull on The Show.
