Dempster wants to be a Dodger, not a Brave.
quote:

Dempster, as a player with 10 years of major-league service, the last five with the same team, has the right to block a trade to the Braves.

The pitcher instead wants to be sent to the Los Angeles Dodgers, who were unable to reach agreement with the Cubs on a suitable deal, sources said.

Teams with SP needs may want to watch Greinke's possible last start as a Brewer tonight against the Phillies.

Bundle up your prospects to take a shot at the pitcher with the #2 FIP in all of baseball. If you play your cards right, they may even throw in a 60 save closer.

Does anyone have any concners with Greinke in a major market with his documented social anxiety disorder?

Dempster is within his rights to do this as a 10 and 5 guy. The Braves leaking the trade is going to frick the Cubs. Now, the Dodgers know the price the Braves were paying and they know Dempster wants to go to LA, not Atlanta. The potential return just went way down.

They just need to address a bullpen that has blown 17 saves so far this season and find a SS. I'm not worried about the future of the Crew, but this season is toast.

Ryan Dempster told reporters Tuesday that he will take "much of the next week" to decide on a potential trade.

The Cubs worked out a deal on Monday that would have sent Dempster to the Braves for 22-year-old right-hander Randall Delgado. But Dempster has 10-and-5 rights, which allows him to veto any trade, and is taking his time deciding whether he wants to go to Atlanta. The Cubs are also said to be engaged in negotiations with the Dodgers. Dempster expects to make his scheduled start for Chicago on Wednesday.
Within his rights, but still being a dick head.
