Boone is an embarrassment

Boone is a clown. How he convinced anyone he was the right choice for manager I’ll never understand.

Well for starters it places no value on situational baseball. And it assigns different values depending on the position a player is playing

So in your opinion what is the most accurate stat to rate baseball players comparatively? Most like OPS, OPS+, Woba and WRC+ are stats that measure only offensive production. WAR if I'm not mistaken figures in defense as well and I think that should not be discounted.

My opinion is there isn’t one.

There are so many different factors needed to create winning baseball that it can’t simply be dumbed down into one statistic

So a 0.25 lower ERA is worth almost 1 more point in WAR even considering almost all the other statistics favor the other player

Strider also has a higher walk rate than Gallen.

Lol he has 8 more walks on the season

And I would think having the second highest K/9 innings in a season in the entire history of baseball would offset 8 more walks

You’re having a hard time with this WAR thing

Whether or not you think WAR is a legitimate statistic to gauge a players value really doesn’t matter. The people that vote on things like MVP all think it is and it will be a factor.

I personally think NL MVP goes to Acuna.
