80 wins ain't even CONTENTION for the Wild Card. given the AL East power, it will take at least 90 wins to win the wild card. The last time a sub-90 win team won the wild card was 1996. If you're projecting 80 wins, you ain't even in the conversation for the wild card.
Hell, it's easier to win the Central or West than it is to win the Wild Card.

Only reason I list Cleveland is because they have a lot of youth and some very good players who had down years.
It is asking a lot of some of these players to bounce back in a big way but if they do live up to their billing Cleveland could be in contention for the wild card late into the season. Obviously anything would be better than last year and I expect them to win 80 games this upcoming season
80 wins would be a miracle, I'm just hoping they don't lose 100 games. The rotation is shite, the lineup is full of nobodies and we have a cheap arse owner who won't spend a dime. I pray everyday that Dolan sells the team to Dan Gilbert

Kansas City gets to 80 wins, Pittsburgh doesn't lose #82 until September

80 wins would make Cleveland a surprise team for this upcoming season. They (if I believe they are improved) should be within 5-10 games going into last month of season. I never proclaimed they would win anything.

Well I'd say Cubs, but that wouldn't be a "surprise,"
I see what you did there..

Man I hope it's the Astros, but I don't believe it.
I'll go with the Rangers.

I want to say the cubs, but I would have to rely on Soriano to remember how to swing the bat.
I'll take to Twins to reach the World Series this year. Reports have said that Liriano's velocity is close to where it was pre injury.

Indians will be a .500 team this year. Good hitting, young inexperienced pitching. 2012 will be the year they win the division again.
Mariners will beat Texas out for the AL West because Cliff Lee is a man

False.
I may even predict the Royals finish ahead of Cleveland. Maybe.

fwiw, I'm not sure how much of a surprise it may be, but I'm picking the Rangers to take the West.

Marlins.
Because we're a surprise team every year, and this year feels very similar to 2003.
I know I say that every year, but still.
