Yankees acquired all of that international money, wonder if they use it on some of those Braves guys? I know Maiten is off the board since he went to the Angels what about the others

Yeah, I really doubt there would be much interest in Ellsbury unless Yankees kicked in most of the money. I imagine Cashman regrets the no trade clause. I wish Mozeliak never gave Fowler one either.

It was a dumb deal from the start, not sure what the Yankees were thinking. Almost like they were bidding against themselves, same with Rodriguez

And Ellsbury had a so so year his last year with Red Sox. Rangers made a similar questionable deal with Choo around the same time. I hope Cardinals aren’t regretting the Fowler deal in a few years, though I’d still rather have him than Heyward.

Yanks need to trade gardy for some pitching depth. His value will never be higher than it is now. That would also free up some at bats for frazier as well.

Someone from the OF is going to be moved, Yanks also have Florial and McKinney who will need some AB in a year or three.... Gardner will be gone by then but still will be crowded with Judge, Stanton, Hicks, Frazier.

McKinney hit .306/.336/.541 in 209 AB at AAA last year

Indeed. Maybe Cardinals try to get Donaldson, Ozuna, or Abreu now.

Red Sox were talking to the White Sox about Abreu, wonder if they make the deal now then sign Martinez

He has one year left on his contract. I don't think he has much value, unless packaged with prospects. But still would have to find a team that is ready to content and win now that needs outfield depth.

Indians? Twins? Nationals?

Gardner won't be dealt before the season, IMO.

And then once the season starts, it'll be hard to deal him at the deadline, because he'll be the unquestioned leader.

He'll play out his contract with the Yankees. No need to trade him.

This I agree with

I'm guessing that Headley will be the starting 3B until Andjur is ready with Stanton/Judge/Hicks at DH when not in the field. Very curious what happens with Frazier though. Could trade McKinney since he is 23 already and showed he could hit in AAA.

McKinney/Dellin for Cobb

The fan in me wants them to trade Headley.

The rational front office person in me understands that while Headley sort of sucks arse, he is a great locker room presence, can play multiple positions in the infield, and can be very valuable in stretches when he gets hot. Doesn't hurt that he's a switch hitter, either.

It'll be interesting to see if Judge/Stanton spend any time in center field next season. I'd imagine Gardner will slide into center on days when Hicks isn't in the outfield, while Stanton takes left field.

No way this happens, I think Gardner, Hicks, and Frazier will be CF.... Although this does remove Gardner from LF where he has won multiple Gold Gloves

Heard respectable guys saying on MLB Network earlier saying it could. They are both above average fielders.

You aren't going to have three guys platooning in center field. Gardner will play a lot of left field.

Frankly, Frazier won't play much unless he beats out Hicks.

OF is stuck
Stanton, Gardner, Judge are starting then the bench you have Hicks, Frazier, Ellsbury

Do they send Frazier back down? I mean it kinda sucks for him since he held his own against MLB pitching.

Part of me still doubts Hicks' future with the Yankees. He's a great defender and is very patient at the plate and can hit for power, so he checks all the boxes. I just don't know.

Hicks is a guy whose value couldn't be higher. He could be a huge piece in a deal to acquire an elite starting pitcher.

And then you slide Frazier into a starting role.
