He will win it even if the Pirates fall out, as long as he keeps producing.

Who else would win it? Votto would have been the favorite had he not gotten hurt.

David Wright? Matt Holiday? Melky? Posey?

I don't know if he would or not, if the Pirates fall out, I'd suspect Cutch would also dip quite a bit leading to part of the fall out.

Beltran and Holliday are certainly up there, and if the Cards finish strong and make the playoffs, it'll be because of those guys.

Holliday is on pace for .323 31 HR's 113 RBI's, and Beltran is on pace for .286 39 HR's 116 RBI's.

Too much baseball left to be played, it's just starting to heat up, asking to predict these awards right now, very tough and dumb.

McCuthen's projected stats at end of regular season:

BA .369
HR 35
RBI 101
SB 21
OBP .429
SLG .626
OPS 1.055

But I'm a bandwagoner for suggesting he'll win the MVP.

Child please,

Posey has to be in there somewhere if he keeps it up.

I don't think Braun or Wright have a chance because their teams wont be close to the playoffs. Kemp and Votto missed too much time. I would put Posey ahead of Holliday and Beltran considering he's doing it while catching.

Melky will get more votes because he has done it over the season

WTF does catching have to with it?

Posey also spends a lot of time at 1B if one was to argue positional value for his numbers.

He has been on fire to start the second half, but I don't think he's a serious MVP contender just yet.

don't care which player you talked about .. you made a blanket statement that suggested position should have no bearing on MVP voting.
