Moncada in the starting lineup after being drilled in the damn head yesterday on a stolen base attempt. Dude is a tank and finally starting to live up to the hype

That's a pretty good article from Fangraphs that goes in-depth on Moncada's change in approach. His AVG is most definitely going to regress from the .333 he's at now because his BABIP is so high. His K rate is almost 10% lower this year though (although it's still high at 24%).

I see him finishing at around .270+ with 20-25 bombs and 15-20 steals

@ChrisCotillo
David Price presented a doomsday scenario for the Red Sox, telling the Globe that Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez could be traded if things don't turn around:

quote:

“If we don’t start playing better, J.D. Martinez, Mookie Betts, maybe myself, we could get traded. We’re, what, 30th in minor league systems?” Price told Alex Speier of the Boston Globe. “We’re dead last. We don’t play better, Mookie Betts will be traded, J.D. Martinez will be traded. It will be tough for a while here.”

It is like he doesn't realize that they just handed out a ton of extensions to young guys

Betts would fit nicely in RF in Houston though and would no longer have to compete with fans for fly balls IMO FWIW LMAO

For whatever reason I still don’t have a ton of confidence in this White Sox rebuild. Maybe we’ve been skewed by how fast the Cubs Braves Astros came on but it just seems like it isn’t quite coming together

Sale could make a decent LOOGY out of the pen. Maybe JD could compete with White but let’s not get ahead of ourselves

Joey Votto just hit his 1st career leadoff home run. 80 more and he'll tie Ricky Henderson's all time record.

I'm kind of mixed on it. Moncada, Eloy, and Anderson are all great pieces as well as Luis Robert in in the minors. The big thing for me is pitching -- Rodon looks like a 3, Kopech has already had TJ, though they do have Cease still on the farm.

The Shields trade is terrible in hindsight from the early returns we've seen from Tatis JR. I wonder if they'll try and move Abreu for a young SP at the deadline. He's already 32, not sure he fits into their window
