One of my favorite things to do each summer is take a big trip and include MLB and minor league ballparks. Knowing that helps get me through the year as a teacher.

Needless to say, this whole thing is a bummer. It has caused me to postpone my wedding. Honeymoon (which had a couple of ballgames) is now on the cusp of being screwed.

I think this year might be considered "extenuating circumstances"

What a stupid fricking take.

Not sure why it takes 162 games for their season anyways.

This may be the first step to a shortened season

The playoffs are the only time I can bear to watch it so win win

Ain't nobody giving up Home Field, because people are pussies and afraid of cold weather.

Wouldn't matter if it was -20, Busch Stadium would be packed to the gills for every Playoff home game, no way they give up that huge revenue stream.

Bars, eateries, Hotels will sue, as could cities, as they would lose a huge revenue stream. Unlike NFL, people use hotels, eateries, stay nights in cities and spend cash.

NFL fans drive in, tail gate, go home. MLB fans spend a day, night, weekend in droves.

I never understand the “cold weather” argument
Those places would pack the shite outta the place regardless
And for football, isn’t football supposed to be played in all elements?
Real alpha players can play in any weather

The average high temp for March in Ohio is 51 degrees. The average high for November is 52.

They need to use domed stadiums. 6 teams could play 3 games a day. That would allow the season to go into November with Playoff in December and perhaps save the season.

Shorten the season by 10-24 games and expand the rosters. Cutting interleague play would be a good start and might make the season a little more exciting. Perhaps allow repeat limited repeat substitutions.

162 is too long anyway. 124 would be plenty in a regular season......100 this year

Baseball shouldn’t be played into Nov imo. Much as I love it, the extra playoff nonsense just adds to the ridiculousness. Bring the season down to 145 or so.
