More NBA Final losses than wins. Awesome.

2-3 in the Finals is better than 2-0.

Lebron came out of high school and Jordan was in college, so the age comparison isn't perfect.

Yes it is. Lebron was good enough to play in the NBA when he was 19. Jordan wasn't.

Lebron started the NBA at 19, MJ at 21.

Advantage: Lebron

Obviously we project that Jordan passes James in the next couple years, and this really puts into perspective just how great James has been and how close he will end up to being as good as Jordan, when it's all said and done. James is in the middle of a great run.

Michael Jordan was also older when he joined the NBA. That kind of helps Lebron's stats a little bit.

Correct. That's why it's being cited in the thread.

When/if LeBron gets to 4 or 5 rings, then it's time to start the conversation.

The conversation in this thread compares the two players at James' current age, and James clearly is better through 29 years of life.

I don't really care to argue about it but I'll say the ACC at age 19 doesn't compare to the NBA at 19.

And Jordan averaged fewer than 20ppg in that ACC while James was averaging almost 30 in the NBA.

If the argument is "LeBron was a better player than Jordan from age 18-24"? Sure.

Obviously the argument is that James was better from age 0-29, and that argument holds all the water in the world because it is true.

As far as building some sort of candidacy of LeBron being better over an entire career? Absolutely not.

Correct.

You are aware that from 1975-1995 no high school player jumped to the NBA. It isn't that Jordan couldn't do it,
Yes it is.

But James was good enough to join the NBA at age 18. Jordan was not. James shouldn't be penalized for that.

Jordan was not, Lol...

Also, didn't Jordan have three titles by age 29?

The season was over. Bron could have scored 20 in that time span, but the Spurs were not losing that game. If you can't see that then you may be the thick headed one.

You gotta remember here, you're responding to the guy who STILL routinely brings up Lebron's tattoos, so yea, thick headed would certainly apply.

Could we maybe include in the OP MJ's college stats from his last two years. His last 2 years at UNC he was a 1st team all american and player of the year. Obviously that is college vs. the NBA but we are giving Lebron 2 more NBA seasons

No one went straight from high school to the NBA during the 80s. There were 3 total players before 1995 who went straight. Even if you had the talent, no one did it. Not until 95 when Garnett did it did it become a thing

6× NBA champion (1991–1993, 1996–1998)
1993 3rd one he was born in 63' he was 30

Which is probabaly part of the reason OP is posting this now.... in a few months old LB will be 30 sitting there with just his two trophies..

Obviously it doesn't matter whether he's penalized by this or not. The fact of the matter is that Lebron James by age 29 has compiled much more impressive numbers than Jordan did by age 29. I think we all assume that when the two are lined up from birth, Jordan passes James in the next few years, and even though there are some in this thread who like to watch 12 hours of ESPN programming daily and then complain about how many times James is mentioned, the answer to the question "How long in even-age time will James have a more impressive line than Jordan?" is intriguingly high, in years, and definitely longer than any other post-Jordan player.

The fact is that most of us remember 1992, when Jordan was 29, and the 29-year-old who plays with Miami has had a much more impressive career than 1992's Jordan had, and that is pretty amazing.
