In the NFL guys like Marino and Sanders are still remembered despite not winning titles
Didn't play defense. They play 45 percent of their game. NBA starters play 30-40 minutes a night as one of 5 guys on the court and play both ways. Not comparable.

But but but...sfp says age > number of seasons. If you are going to do it by age, then at least eliminate the years 18-21 when Lebron got to accumulate these numbers and MJ did not.
Eliminate those years and the stats in the OP don't change one bit.
Thats.
The.
Point.

how about years in the league

I am in the count it by age camp. LeBron is not a running back with a limited amount of carries. Those first few years are almost free years on the stats. If he can win two or three titles in the next five years and pile up great stats, this starts to look like a push.
This same slapfight goes on with tennis fans. I love Federer, but Nadal was piling up wins at an earlier age and that is why I always thought he would pass Fed. Fed fans disagreed and had a good case to compare by years on tour instead because you can argue that Nadal plays a punishing (to himself) style and won't be able to win at a later age like Fed. Not the case in basketball IMO. I don't see LeBron declining in athleticism any quicker than MJ, and I think you can make a case that things like his passing skills will keep him more valuable at a later age.

I just looked it up. Jordan averaged 13.5 as a freshman at UNC.

Under Dean Smith? That's bordering on miraculous. Smith hated relying on freshmen.

OP, just give it up.
This will go on for a few more days. Let the anti-Lebron crowd have their moment. They've been waiting and hiding since 2012.
It will pass soon, everything will return to normal.

1. You're leaving a few big things off of that list for MJ's resumé.
2. At that time MJ was on the rise as far as building his dynasty. That's something that Lebron is evidently unable to sustain, in big part due to his "decision"

also, Lebron quits when it matters.
6 minutes to go last night, 18 points down and a championship and also the season at stake, Lebron goes to the bench and quits.
MJ wasnt wired that way, there was no quit he was determined win lose or draw.

Are you really stupid enough to think Bron decides when he does or doesn't play? Spo makes those calls, idiot
Posted on 6/16/14 at 6:39 pm to NawlinsTigah270
Yes, idiot, lebron does.
if Lebron said "dont take me out coach" spo would keep him in the game, especially in that situation last night. 6 minutes to go.

You really make yourself look stupid here.
It was most likely Lebrons decision to sit.

Plus Jordan was, at best, the third option, behind Worthy and Perkins.

Prove to us that LeBron actually decides when and when not to play

Id imagine that Dan Marino would be considered by alot of people to be one of the best qb's to play in the NFL.
Yes, a lot of people consider him "one of the best", but NO ONE considers him THE BEST.

Pretty sure he has all-star and playoff appearances. Start it when they both have the same age season on basketball reference. It will be either 21 or 22.

Do you really believe that?
No I really believe he runs the entire team. He decides when he plays and when he gets rest, he decides the same for his teammates, he draws up the plays, and everything in between. Spo is just there to collect a check and is nothing more than a video guy still

Damn you are thick headed. Dude is the best player in the league with the season on the line no way a coach leaves him on the bench if he says I want to stay in.
