This. Kobe was once the object of their hatred , but now they are obsessed with LeBron.

I don't understand what's in it for them.

Ultimately, this is LeBron’s downfall. It ate him up inside for years when he went to Miami that he became so widely hated. You can just tell he had an extra weight on his shoulders

2. MJ ruined Mugsy Bogue by telling him "shoot it, you fricking midget" in the final seconds of a tight 1995 1st round playoff game. He shot and it wasn't close. Mugsy told Johnny Bach that single play ruined his career.

Some dude broke this down on Reddit, it's not remotely true, like most of the others listed in the OP.

Yeah I didn't even take time to address all the inaccuracies in the OP

MJ gave Barkey a 20k diamond earrings on a golf course during the 93 finals. When asked why he did by it, MJ responded "“he won’t get in my way the rest of the series, what’s $20,000 to me? Charles thinks we’re great friends. I hate that fat f—.” Jordan dropped 55 in game 4 and Barkley never touched him once.

Bird was never as dominant once he stopped hating Magic.

He said Magic would smile at you and wanna be your friend but deep down he wanted to cut your heart out.

Part of the reason Magic won more than Bird and why Bird hates the current NBA...the love-fests as he calls them, everyone hugging before and after games like it was just a scrimmage.

There are 100 ways to win and to be a leader. Everyone doesn't have to do it Jordan's way, especially if it's not in their nature to act that way.

What downfall? The guy is wildly successful by every measure. People need some perspective

It really does seem like TD exists in an alternate reality sometimes.

Yes but perspective is different when you're are crowned the best ever at a young age and you're supposed to win 10 Championships like Bill Russell and you don't even come close.

Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six.

Shite, even he believed the hype.

Even his fanboys would admit, yeah...we sort of expected a little more given all the Chosen One talk.

He came in as a rookie with unbelievable hype and exceeded it. Who here will deny that?

I've never seen people hang on a damn pep rally so much. He got caught up in the moment.

When it's all said and done he'll be the all time points leader in NBA history, a ton of other records, and probably four championships. If in 2003 people said he'd accomplish all of that, I think everyone would've said no way.

Generational and cultural, MJ played in a different era where it was all about the competition, vanquishing the competition, players didn’t grow up and develop in the AAU/basketball camp circuit, more genuine rivalries, not much free agency, players actually went to college longer and developed refined games, etc.

Ehhhhh it depends on what the expectations were. If the expectations were first-ballot HOFer, def achieved that. If they were GOAT or better than MJ, nope.

Let’s be honest the dirty secret behind all of Magic’s Lakers titles is he played in the weak West whereas Bird’s Celtics had to emerge from a crowded field of viable contenders therefore the Lakers were fresher entering those Finals, not diminishing the accomplishment just providing context
