Missed selection show today. What was Committee's reason for ND?

They're stupid. That's the reason. Who wants to watch Bama demolish them? Almost any other team would've been preferable to ND.

I'd prefer Cincy or OU, frankly. If I had to pick between A&M and ND, though, I'd put A&M in.

Problem is the Committee had TAMU #5. Who wants to watch them get boat-raced AGAIN by Bama?
TAMU #5 was like a buffer for ND getting in.
TV dictated it; nobody was going to watch TAMU/Bama II.
What's the point of that game? They already played and Bama is way better. At least with ND they could sell to the public the mystery and chance that ND could pull off a shocker.

I mean this isn't necessarily unprecedented since Oklahoma got blown out in the conference championship game by K-State in 2003 and yet still made the title game.

I mean, ND and Clemson played again in the conf. championship. (ND lost that.) By your logic, why shouldn't Bama and TAMU play now? No one really thinks ND will win after the shellacking from Clemson last night. And if Clemson beats OSU and on the HIGHLY unlikely chance that ND doesn't get skull-effed by Bama, it'll be another Clemson-ND match-up. You cannot make me believe that'll be good for ratings.
Understand that I don't like TAMU being in there either; I just think they're preferable to ND.

They were living off their name long before Lou Holtz came onto the scene. Just as an example, in 1958 when undefeated LSU won the AP poll, one voter gave a 6-4 ND a #1 vote.
