One of the best to play the game and his talent is being wasted playing for a terrible ball club.

At least he got paid...

I felt sorry for him being on the crappy Angels but now that he signed that big contract I don’t feel sorry for him because as long as he with the Angels he’ll never play in the postseason and that’s ashame for baseball fans

He can enjoy a nice, long off season starting tomorrow

They said it went 452 like 5 times. It was definitely a bomb, but BIG difference between 452 and 490.

Yeah, he’s from the northeast and could have signed with Boston and made the Green Monster his bitch playing on prime time as much as anybody not on the Yankees. Apparently other things were more important to him. Which is fine, but I don’t feel sorry for him. Would kind of feel sorry for MLB if it weren’t run by the most incompetent frick in the history of the big 3 team sport commissioners.

This dude is the greatest baseball player of the last 50 years, and it isnt close.

He’ll retire a Top 10 all time, if not a Top 5

You stay nerds say he has a WAR of 10 trillion. He should be carrying teams into the playoffs. Half the teams in the league make the playoffs now and he still can’t get in. Stop playing the pity card, especially now that Tungsten Arm O’Doyle is his teammate.

He took a lot of coin for a lot of years a couple of years ago to stay with the Angels. Good decision for financial and climate reasons. But he signed up to play for bad teams. No sympathy at all.

Since his teammates suck, he should try harder, show some grit, and post a 1.500 OPS. He just doesn’t have it in him….to do what no one in the history of baseball has ever done.

If he was on the Yankees he would be anointed the prorated home run king for the season with live cut-ins of his final at-bats.

i love how this is used against him, when if he took less to play for a good team...people would also be using that against him

People bitch about everything.

Sign with the highest bidder: “Guy only cares about money, where is the loyalty?!”

Sign with a great team: “What a front runner. Massive pussy”

Sign with a bad team: “Nobody to blame but himself. Doesn’t care about winning”

He could have got as much or more money from the Yankees or Phillies. It wasn't just a financial decision to stay with the Angels. Orange County is nice especially Newport Beach where he lives. He's comfortable.

Maybe the Angels will make the playoffs next year.
