The Heat want to play small, they've been at their best all year when they go small.

Lebron can't guard Duncan with Miller starting, but guarding Splitter wouldn't be that much of a stretch.

Mike Miller has been the Heat finals MVP to this point. It would be interesting to see if he would get the award if he keeps it up and they pull off a series win somehow

Zach Lowe has a good article on Grantland today breaking down some of the heat's worst defensive breakdowns. Miller's name was in every play he analyzed

I read it, it's a good article.

I'm not advocating Miller's defensive capabilities, but a lot of the breakdowns in Miami's defense were either poor communication or poor rotations. And a good bit of that was Miller's fault.

However he at least offers you something on the court. Haslem hasn't done anything this series. Also this smaller line up will give Miami a little mor quickness on the defensive end, so it will be interesting to see how they handle rotations and picks.

The bigger question mark in my opinion will be if LeBron can keep Splitter off the offenisve glass.

And we're forgetting the other side of the ball as, well. Who guards Miller and does that have any affect on LeBron or Wade getting to the rim.

I don't blame spo, I would bench all the starters except James. The others can't do any worse.

The Heat blew their load during the reg season. And if Guys like Miller and Joel Anthony and Haslem barely have any minutes all year you can't expect them to get magically better and get hot

What are you talking about?

Joel Anthony doesn't play. Haslem average 19 minutes/game in 75 games. Miller averaged 15 minutes/game in 59 games and he most certainly is hot at the moment.

I don't question Lebron's ability to guard Splitter. The problem is they are playing Lebron a ridiculous amount of minutes in comparison I everyone else on the court. The Heat also expect him to bang on the defensive end with a 7 ft and then take over on the offensive end against basically 5 on 1? The Heat supporting cast has to show up on offense and defense. Lebron needs to shoot his jumper better, but Wade and Bosh aren't contributing like superstars.

Probably wouldn't be a horrible move.

Chalmers gets so much unnecessary hate. He is the reason they won game 2 and he has probably been their second best player during the playoffs. Benching him would be stupid.

How is Bosh immune from being benched? Hes been awful most of the postseason.

Yeah if anything, sit Bosh instead of Haslem.

In the last 2 games Bosh is shooting .500 while. In each game he's scored 12, grabbed 10 boards, and 4 assists.

He's also had 3 block in one game and 3 steals in another.

While he hasn't been as great as he can be, he's been way more productive than Haslem.

As far as Wade goes, he has great first halves and then derps up all second half. Who knows what's going on with him.
