So my question is when was McQuery lying...before the grand jury or now?? And how will this affect the trial?

Not necessarily either. A grand jury report is summary in nature and does not include a complete transcript of McQueary's testimony before it.

After reading the grand jury report i can see how that could be omitted. actually if you read it, it says that they both noticed McQueary . It didn't go into details about him going captain save the child or antyhing, but you can reasonably assume without them going into graphic details that that rape stopped when they noticed him.

everyone just assumed he ran out the building (including me) without stopping the rape.

I dont think that's as big of an issue as his claiming now that he talked to the police which I thought it said in the grand jury report that he in fact did not.

i agree with that.

but he's not going to get in trouble either way.

but he was hanged in the court of public opinion by everyone for not stopping the rape. If he stopped the rape and went and told joe the next morning... I mean....shite it's not like he was judas or antyhing

I actually take bigger issue with him not seeing that this was properly reported to the authorities. I can imagine where seeing a colleague raping a 10 year old in a shower might put you in a state of shock. I don't like it but it's possible and I take far less issue with that than the 9+ years of no action taken after the fact.

ETA from Grand Jury report

quote:

Department of Public Welfare and Children and Youth Services local and state records were subpoenaed by the Grand Jury; University Police records were also subpoenaed. The records reveal that the 2002 incident was never reported to any officials, in contravention of Pennsylvania law.
