You saying ND 38-21 is not a curb-stomp???
It is, but you also said Michigan would curb-stomp ND. You think my prediction that ND will blow out Michigan is ludicrous, I think yours that Michigan will blow out ND is. So we're even.

Not a chance. These two teams are in a rebilding mode. BUT RICH ROD in year three at MICH has MUCH more oing for him that Kelly at THIS time.
What? You afraid? You know ND's about to lay the smack on the Wolverines, that's why you won't do the week ban bet.

Here is the deal PUNK. MIchigan has much more to prove, ND with Kelly is stil in a process. YOU being a blind 20 year old LITTLE boy can't see that. YOU may have done research on football, BUT you still don't know it. Take it from an elder this time. BTW I really DON'T care who wins this game. I just think Mich will go in and win big.

They both have a ton to prove. And ND's better, so they'll win.

I hate to do someone else's work but here it goes:
1. ND looks like a much better tackling team than UConn, based on what I saw of each team last week.
2. ND's 3-4 defense is much better suited to contain Robinson, particularly on the edges.
3. Both of ND's corners - #4 and #2 - appear to be physical and good in run support, unlike what I saw from UConn.
4. Robinson is not yet a threat to beat anyone with his passing skills.
5. Crist has a big league arm, and if he plays well, he and ND's WRs (Floyd, Rudolph, and others) can shred Michigan's depleted secondary.
6. UConn is not that great. Their QB, Frazer, is not worth a lick IMO. He was the 4th string QB at ND and transferred.
On the other hand, Michigan has some things going for it:
1. RR has had 3 years (plus extra practice time
2. There is a lot of pressure on RR to win this game, and he will put a lot into this game.
3. ND is still learning its new offense, breaking in a new QB in a new system, and breaking in a new defense.
4. The underdog tends to win this game, and Michigan is a 4 point dog.
I think it will be a close game that could go either way. I don't expect a high scoring game either.

ND's also got a HUGE advantage in special teams, and has the home field (and Kelly blows RR out of the water). The Irish looked great tackling in the open field against Purdue, so hopefully that will help against Robinson.

I LOVE how PJ wants people to break it down when he has never broken down a game in his life. He just yells random predictions.

While we did look good running the ball, and we FINALLY seemed to grasp the concept of tackling, we did it against Purdue. We'll see how good our D really is against a very mobile quarterback this weekend. Brian Smith showed flashes of last year's piss-poor QB containment when he didn't stay home on Marve's TD run. We MUST contain Robinson, which will surely be a more difficult task than last week's.
We do have a couple advantages in that it's a home game, and Michigan's secondary is suspect, which is clutch because Crist showed that he is still an inexperienced QB. He has a great arm, but his accuracy and the decisions he makes can be questionable, as is expected from a first-time starter. The O-line looked decent, but Crist got sacked a couple of times when he should have stepped up in the pocket or thrown the ball away.
If we play to our potential, and don't make mistakes, I think we pull this one out. However, I foresee Michigan having a couple of big plays with Robinson scampering around and having a couple of deep passes that will keep them in the game. We have to get Floyd involved more and hope that he can make the big plays that he's capable of (and hold on to the ball).
I see this one coming down to whoever has the ball last, winning on a late score.

Robinson is dangerous on the ground. I'm not too concerned about his passing, though. While he was 19/22, his longest pass was 11 yards, I believe. He can't throw down field. And Walls and Gray both looked solid for us. Keep in mind, the game wasn't close, until Floyd's fumble. If that's a TD, the game's blown open. Similarly, UCONN fumbled the ball at a key point against Michigan as they were about to score, and from that point on, it was game over. With a score there, UCONN's back in it and the momentum shifts.
I just think ND's clearly the better team, but maybe it's my bias.

Walls got beat twice on deep balls last week, but luckily the receivers couldn't catch a cold. But I don't think Robinson will be throwing all over us... like I said, maybe one or two lucky big plays.
He will make big plays on the ground though... I can't wait to see Harrison Smith take more horrible angles to the ball and get his ankles broken.

Possibly. It will definitely be a great atmosphere, I can guarantee that much.
Just curious, what dorm are you/were you in?

Was in Morrissey. Off-campus now.

OK. I heard a lot of people don't like Morrissey (the rector's really strict), but I don't really know. I'm in Zahm, best dorm on campus. Everybody else wishes they were us.

I bet ND figuratively ejaculates in ESPN's mouth from the virtual blowjobs they'll be getting 'round the clock.

You must have them confused with Bama. There's no "Inside Access ND" on ESPN.
I feel Michigan might be a better team, but I am going with the Irish in this one. Call it "intangibles".
