I do not understand this move. I trade any player away before I trade away Minka. Why not keep the best young player on your team that you plan on rebuilding with new young talent?

If that’s true, then don’t say “these are the same people that missed on Jamarcus and Leaf.”

Tua is already seeking a trade to get out of Miami.

Maybe they should go full Dick Vermeil and have open tryouts.

Disney can make a movie about that in around 30 years.

Flores believes in his scheme over talent. Minkah still hasn’t found a full time NFL position and hasn’t been happy about his role. I don’t think they’re actively looking to trade him but if a team wants to overpay like Tunsil they’d do it.

Overpaying for a starting LT is different from overpaying for a guy who has no position.

LT is arguably the third most valuable position behind QB and pass rusher.

If Minkah were a lockdown corner or a good pass rusher, I could see an overpay. Problem is that no one knows how to use him, meaning his value is questionable.

One could argue the Dolphins don't know how to use him, which decreases his value.

I agree, he’s always been a better slot corner than safety.

Versatility is a unique quality and a very good one. I’d say he should embrace it but he’s probably trying to get out of there and they want their value for him.

wants to play slot db.

His mother doesnt want him playing olb. Team was using him as slot, as olb, and corner.

He doesnt want to be olb.
(You see him lined up as olb and you call a play to trample him. Total waste.
The bears used to run sayers between the tackles.

Hes worth a 1st rounder.

wouldn't base this on what NFL scouts currently think of him. These are the same scouts who thought Jamarcus Russell was worth the #1 pick as well as the same scouts who thought Ryan Leaf was worth a #2 pick.

Jack of all trades is good for a plug and chug player to fill holes in your lineup.

Problem is that Minkah cost the 11th overall pick and they don’t know what to do with him. That’s not good considering all the different issues the Dolphins have. If nothing else, that’s blown opportunity cost by not getting Derwin James (S) or Leighton Vander Esch (LB), both of whom are pro bowlers.

Any time anyone references a scout’s analysis of a player...

Does he have an ugly girlfriend? Ugly girlfriend means he lacks confidence.

how does that work exactly? His agent decides the team and comes negotiates the trade terms?
