Unfortunately, there are rumors circling around that Floyd wants to leave the US for his next fight and he's eyeing the UK
If he does take the khan fight it is pretty much a money deal. Im sure it would be huge if they fight in the uk, but its a terrible matchup

I agree. But What happens when the top boxers all retire?
Someone always rises up. People asked that about De La Hoya. Then Mayweather stepped up and took over. Then Pacquiao joined. Now Canelo is being groomed by Golden Boy to do the same. And Adrien Broner is trying his best to fill Floyd's shoes by being the flashy and cocky fighter of the next decade.
Someone always takes over as the face of boxing. Boxing will be fine. Golden Boy promotions are led by marketing geniuses (DLH for one) and they will make sure the sport stays relevant.
The sport will be fine.

Mayweather will kick the shite out of khan wherever they fight.

Yeah it's all about $$$. Mayweather-Khan could fill Wembley Stadium and become larger than Ricky Hatton events used to be over there.

o is there any way Floyd is able to duck Cinnamon for his next fight? He should get crushed by the media if he does....
Why do you always post dumb statements like this?
Canelos handlers have a near zeeo percent chance of letting him be schooled by mayweather.
Mayweather would crush him and make him look terrible.
Canelo struggled to defeat trout and has not yet earned that shot yet
Cause cinnamon is the only legit guy for fmm to fight next. Who do you think he should fight next?

Boxing will always be bigger than MMA IMO.
Agreed. I don't find MMA to have the juice it had from 2007-2009. It's like it hit its peak with UFC 100.
MMA people used to make that pitch about how it was violent and real fighting, unlike boxing. However, MMA has become very technical over the last few years, much like boxing. They don't have that sales pitch anymore.

Khan only gets in trouble when he makes it a slugfest. When he stays on the outside and box he is impressive. He does have a glass jaw but he also possesses superior hand speed.
IMO Canelo is still about a year away from being competitive against Floyd.

Floyd is supposed to fight in September, so Khan is the likely choice if the UK rumors are true.
After that, Bradley could be top choice...especially if he beats Marquez in a few months. In fact, I'd be shocked if that fight isn't made in '14.
Then there's always Canelo and Trout. And don't be surprised if he fights someone like Erislandy Lara or Vanes Martirosyan at 154. Those are some "killin' time" fights like the one tonight with Guerrero and in 2011 with Ortiz.
Those are all likely opponents for his next five fights.
*and we could always get a fight with Sergio Martinez at 154. That would have been a great matchup two years ago.

I disagree, but this is not the thread for that. Mma will overtake boxing (if it hasn't already) eventually. It may take a while, but it is inevitable. It is a superior sport in every facet....

MMA will fall apart as soon as the Affliction fad dies. It's inevitable and can't happen soon enough. Boxing fans love boxing and always will. MMA fans just like it bc it's the "in" thing.
The main event at some "garbage" events in boxing pays out more than entire UFC cards. All MMA has is the "in" factor. It doesn't have the money. I respect the sport and know that MMA is a tough business, but it's lost it's wow factor. Just a matter of time before it goes back to what it was in the 90's.

I understand your love for MMA. I enjoy some of it as well. It's a good sport. But you just posted one of the dumbest comments ever. MMA is a fad. Boxing is a global sport. MMA is a novelty anywhere but Brazil and the US. Boxing rules in Europe, Mexico, and Asia.

Khan has lost to a bunch of middle of the road fighters lately and he has no business in the ring with floyd.
The one thing I can say about Khan is that every fight I have watched of his Ive always thought he was the better boxer. Even in his defeats. I want to see him fight Mayweather because it might actually be exciting.

That might be the first Mayweather fight Ill avoid in years. I think Marquez will beat him Bradley anyway.

Mma isn't important in asia? Lol.
Btw for a downward trend...ufc 158 sold over a million.
One month later they sold aro uhh nd 700k.
That's not free...people are paying every month.
Boxing can't pull off every month unless a new toungr generation comes up and turns it around

Same thing was said when Floyd fought De La Hoya
and Hatton
and Marquez
and Ortiz
and Cutto
If you want a slugfest, you arent going to get that in a Mayweather fight. And that is what is so great about him

No chance. When we were kids we all watched boxing which is why it is still popular but now all of the kids are watching MMA. In 10-15 years max MMA will be #1.
