The three best teams in the West right now are all relatively old. So LA and San Antonio don't have a chance? Dirk has proven that he can produce in the playoffs, and the Mavs have proven they can win with him as their best player and #1 option. There really isn't much else to say. Dirk's game hasn't really declined with age. In fact, he is having one of his better seasons this year. Chandler is getting up there, but he's been rejuvenated ever since last summer's Men's National team experience. He is finally the mobile big the Mavs have always been lacking. Jason Terry is shooting above his career average. Kidd's biggest asset is his 3-point shooting, which is above his career average. The Mavs age isn't really a problem for this team at all. Similar to Los Angeles and San Antonio, they aren't filled with players breaking down from age. And even if a few players are declining (like Kidd), they are still producing in different needed areas that they individually aren't known for in their careers.
So no, I don't 100% see your point. Who is built for the playoffs? If the Mavs aren't, then San Antonio isn't either.

You act as if the Mavs choke every year because they don't always make the conference finals, yet they have only been seeded #1 or #2 and not made the conference finals once. As many times as the Hornets, I might add.
ETA: Actually twice for the Mavs, and once for the Hornets. So I was wrong there, but not really the point.

I'm not expecting the Hornets to get past the first round so that last comment doesnt affect me at all. But the way you and Ghazi act on here, you would think the Mavs are a regular in the finals year in and year out. Their franc his history. Is only a step above the hornets and that's only because of the one finals appearance. They are continuously underwhelming.

The Mavs are the #2 team in the West. It's not like I'm up in here touting the Suns.
And it's not really all that annoying, if you actually go through and read the thread. Definitely not as stupid as this.
He's way more known than you around here. And even TotesMcGotes (one of the biggest Mavs haters on the board) said you were making yourself look stupid.

you should note that in all of their 1st round losses, they really never even competed.
seeding in the West the last 10 years hasnt really meant shite outside of the top 2 or 3. Just about all teams are equal after that.
and in just about every series they have lost in the Dirk era in any round, besides the year they went to the finals, they haven't really competed. talking like winning 1 game, sometimes 2.

It really is weird that Dirk doesn't come off as an alpha. He just seems like he gets pushed around and disrespected. If the Mavs had another star beside Dirk, Chandler, and Haywood they would be sick.
He is a great player and if you aren't giving the league MVP to Lebron it should probably go to Dirk again.
