Ghazi in rare form tonight. He and BB03 are choking worse than the Mavs did tonight.

The Mavs have only lost a series in the west in which they were the higher seed 2 times since 2001, when they started their string of 50-win seasons. They have won 5 playoff series as the lower seed in that time frame.

The rest of the series they have played in, they either won as the higher seed, or lost as the lower seed.

How about since 2006 you say? Still have won 3 playoff series as the lower seed, as opposed to 2 series losses as the higher seed.

Their perception as choke artists is pretty much based solely on the 1st round loss to Golden State in 2007.

So no, I won't accept that. Because it's not true. But most juvenile NBA fans will say it is.

Again, I'm not saying the Hornets are a better team than the Mavs, because we're not. But head to head, I definitely like our chances. We give the Mavs fits year after year.

Like I said, the Hornets give the Mavs probably their 2nd toughest challenge in a potential first round series.

As you said there isn't much difference in the west between 2-7 seeds.

And the NBA fan who knows better will agree with you.

But to those who listen to Ghazi preach around here, every game/series lost is a choke. They were going to roll over the Hornets, Nuggets, and a Spurs team that we were all told were too old to compete anymore.

I was only using this mainly for last season, when all 8 playoff teams won 50 games. But yes, obviously you will see more upsets in the West than in the East because seeds 5-8 have been much stronger out west in the last 10 years.

You lost this battle and are digging yourself in an even deeper hole. The Mavs are choke artist.

DEAL WIT IT

Don't believe me? How many other 1 seeds lost in the first round this decade?

The big argument that you and Ghazi always use is the the Hornets won't go anywhere with West as the second option. Well, the Mavs won't go anywhere with Dirk as the #1 option. It has been proven in the past and it will be proven again this season when you guys make the typical 1st or 2nd round exit despite probably being the second seed.

With all of the old overpaid players littering your roster, get ready for a roster blow up in the next couplemof years and a string of mediocrity because Cuban will try to overplay for over the hill stars in hopes of becoming a contender.

Most people in this thread agree with me.

You are proving my point for me. People base it off of that one series.

No, I don't use this argument.

Which has been proven false in the past.

Really?

What have the Mavs won with Dirk when it mattered?

I also love how you totally ignored my roster blow up comment. What's the matter, big man? Can't handle the truth?

You are acting like a 12 year old. I'm not a Mavs fan, so I don't care about their future roster blowups.

No one in the West wins besides LA and San Antonio, considering one of those two has won the conference every year but once since '99.

I'm clearly baiting you here. But all of the excess BS I have said to make you mad?

Seriously explain to me where I am wrong on my stance with the Mavs. I.e. They are old and aren't built for the playoffs.
