He has been getting significant PT for a little over a week. His adjustments handling the ball will come around.

Turn on a TV. Or listen to a radio. Or go to any sports/social networking site.

Maybe "overrated" isn't the right word (though I think it might be). "Overhyped" is better (relative to his basketball skills, of course. Not his story.)

As I said though, I think he's very, very good, and it's funny to see people hating on him right after he puts on this performance (against the Mavs, no less).

Rondo is 100x times better than Lin don't kid yourself. And a point guard is supposed to distribute the ball aren't they?

My argument is a point guard can still be considered good if they have a detrimental aspect to their game. The more he plays, the more he gets used to facing elite defenders. Hell, I'd have to imagine its quite a shock going from Ivy League defenders to NBA.

That's the best part about this. He's been doing this for about 2-3 weeks. He'll improve so much as he continues to notch game experience, and when Davis comes back and can spell him blows, he'll be even more efficient.

Ok so what do you think Lin will average when Melo is back?
Rondo had two triple doubles last week, I'll take that. The first triple double Lin gets is going to be with 10 TO's.

Well, that is just stupid. Rondo can ball. He is probably around the 5th or 6th best PG IMO.

Paul
Rose
Williams
Westbrook
Nash (huge fan, but he can still ball)
Rondo

does it matter what he averages? this team is different with Lin

and probably will be a W so who gives a shite about the TO's...Rondo doesn't turn the ball over as much because he knows his team..Lin has been learning on the fly with Stat coming back, JR Smith, and will have to do it again tomorrow with Melo

From what the Knicks are asking him to do - TO are expected..

Plus D'Antoni doesn't care as much about that as most coaches. It's a perfect matching of a player and a coach. They'll never win an NBA championship together but they can get to the playoffs every year and it's a very entertaining brand of basketball.

Amare and Lin need more time together. Amare was unstoppable with Nash for a couple of years. He should get more wide open looks in transition as they play more together.

I think adding a talented player will make him that much better

with Boston. Do the knicks go 7-1 with their roster, switching Lin an Rondo? No cause Rondo is not a scorer and cannot be one when needed

Rondo fits his team. Looks to me like Lin (7-1 as a starter without Melo and Amare for some games) fits the knicks as well

No it's not. Lin has averaged the most ppg in the past 2 weeks than any other player (not just PG) in the NBA.

Rondo cant score, so Rondo cant do what Lin has done.

this is correct. Rondo is fine on a team with weapons like Boston

take those weapons away and they are the Hornets.

Not really ripping Rondo, he is ok on that team, he wouldn't fit other teams, just like Lin might not fit others as well but Lin is clearly a better shooter than Rondo, no one can really disagree with that correct?

Overhyped?? Maybe. But overated??? There is nothing to base that on. SULLY at OSU is overated. BIG TIME.

8 games and Lin has a higher career scoring game than Rondo took what 6-7 years to reach?

Uh, you said he cannot score and he can. Pretty simple. Rondo dramatically improved in his third season. He has had way more other guys to distribute the ball to, so they can get their points.

Not discrediting Lin at all, but I doubt his ppg will stay the same when Melo is back.

ETA: Lin is clearly a better shooter, but if Allen and Pierce were not to play for 8 games and the Celtics played 6 shitty teams and 2 good teams, then I would bet that Rondo would fare well in terms of points. How much? Not sure, but he would have quite a few nice games.

Rondo is leagues ahead of Lin, you are just dumb and naive if you think otherwise. Rondo has performed really well for several years, Lin has not completed 1 NBA season, much less 1 half of a season. Some of you would perform fellatio on Lin if given the chance I think.
