I'm not saying I approve of his behavoir, but a 17 year old who has a relationship with an NFL QB, then sends pictures to a notrious gossip website, is hard to feel sorry for.

The lawyer who sent the letter to Deadspin is the girls. She doesn't want a story published and hints that if Deadspin is in possession of pictures, that they were stolen from the girl.
If anything the girl is protecting Sanchez in this situation

we don't have to debate this... we can just rely upon the laws already on the books
if you disagree then lobby in the legislature... although I think most people would feel pretty creepy arguing for a lower age of consent

Not sure of the exact rule, but 16 is only legal if there is a 36-month (I think) age difference between the 2.
In this case, I'm pretty sure Sanchez is older than 19, which means if any of this is true, he's a rapist (again) by the letter of the law.

Apparently in NY the age consent is 17. Still I have to question what the hell he's doing going after high school girls
