Hands down. No game even comes close. Here's what one ESPN writer has to say.
quote:

What's the best rivalry in college football?

There's a case to be made for plenty of them: Michigan vs. Ohio State. Alabama vs. Auburn. Army vs. Navy. Oklahoma vs. Texas. Notre Dame vs. USC.

But the most impactful (and star-studded) rivalry in college football over the past decade? It's hard to make a case for anything other than Alabama vs. LSU.

The two SEC heavyweights clash once again amid huge stakes on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. This will be the seventh AP top-10 matchup and fifth top-five matchup between the teams since Nick Saban was hired at Alabama in 2007. In all 13 matchups between the teams since Saban took over at Alabama, both teams have been ranked in the AP top 20, and one of the teams has been ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in nine of the 13 matchups.

And, yes, the fact that Saban was LSU's head coach and resurrected the Tigers' program before dipping his foot in the NFL has only spiced up things on the Bayou

The last 12 years Bama is 9-3. That doesn't sound like a good rivalry to me.

Almost every year it's a battle is it not? And a handful years it determines the #1 team/who wins the conference

Aub has beaten Bama 4 times in same period. Let's not get carried away. And most years aub sucks.

Most years, the LSU vs Bama game gets the most hype out of any game during the season

Overall that rivalry is closer than the LSU/Bama one. Navy leads it 60-51-7, while Bama leads LSU 52-25-5

since LSU last beat alabama, the iron bowl has been the deciding game for the west twice. your game with alabama has only done this once and that was all the way back in 2012

this is the first time since 2015 there is any real hype going into this game

The overall record is not relevant. Saban going to Alabama changed it and since then it’s mostly been close and several times had national implications

All I know is that game has more NFL talent on the field than any other game every year, and that makes it special, IMO.
