The University of Louisville will self-impose a postseason ban on its men's basketball team this season, per source.

According to what has come across my tweetdeck feed, they cannot.

Friday newsdump on SuperBowl weekend is rarely good.

Friday afternoon before super bowl is usually the best time to deliver bad news.

I am hearing UL will announce a self-imposed ban from the NCAA Tournament this season

Take it with a grain of salt obviously considering the source.

Nothing to see here...the important message is "don't drink and drive", "say NO to drugs", and "be kind, rewind".

I've followed about 1% of CBB this season, are they good this year?

They are a borderline top 15 team, kind of schizo at times. They beat UNC this week, who is arguably the best team in the country.
With all the parity in CBB this year, this would be a big deal. Cause about 30 teams could make a run to a Final 4 this year

So this would be a legit thing, not one of those instances where they wouldnt make it anyway.

In theory, but they were never going to be a top seed with a relatively easy path.

It's a pretty big deal as they have one of those teams this season that Pitino could've molded into a deep run.

You had to figure it was something related to the allegations or something with Pitino's coaching career for him, Jurich, and President Ramsey to be at the press conference (local news WDRB sent out the "emergency" text stating they'd be there).

It's one less team in the way of Johnny Jones and Ben Simmons.

If Louisville and SMU are both ineligible, that most certainly makes LSU a tournament team, as weren't they in the First 4 out?

Also, who is the head of the Selection Committee this year? Reason I ask, is there any "mid majors" that can be pushed into a slot, as sometimes the committee will send "messages" etc.
