LAFAYETTE – One of the most famous analogies in all of sports is, "offense wins games, but defense wins championships." That was definitely true in the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns nationally-televised showdown against Troy.

Terrance Broadway threw for a pair of touchdowns while adding a pair of TDs on the ground to lead a balanced offensive attack and Louisiana used a late goal-line stand to hold off the Trojans, 41-36, in a Sun Belt Conference game on Thursday at Cajun Field.

The thrilling victory by Louisiana (7-2, 4-0 Sun Belt)

Troy's last offensive drive of the game almost pushed me to the point of insanity. Great win..also great attendance from what I've heard..22k on a Thursday night isn't bad at all.

7th win in a row, played that game on 4 days rest. 4 weeks of 2 Tuesday night games, a homecoming game and a Thursday game...considering how deep these young men have had to dig, yes, GREAT win..nice try though.

I don't really consider that an analogy.

Will two losses knock them out of the Div II playoff? Or are there automatic qualifier rules?

We're not giving bonus points for arrest records, just basing it off of football skill.
